• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A couple of months ago, I posted an inquiry about Messicanic Judaism when a good friend of mine began dating a messianic jew and became messianic. My frind is no longer dating that gentleman but has remained messianic. And we had dinner the other nigth and she was telling me about messianic Judaism and it just blew me away. All the gaps I saw in christianity we filled in and I realized that Messianic Judaism is the truth.
I am so excited becuae I have been asking yahweh for the him to reveal the truth to me fro the longest time. i just knew it was not found in any denomination of christianity.
Now if I could just find a messicanic congregation to attend near me.

You're not alone in looking for a messianic congregation! Hey, too bad we don't live nearer. We could be in that search together.

 welcome to the journey. I pray you join with us here in the MJ forum and ask questions, fellowship, and have a great time.

Welcome!

I found this listing on YashaNet.com

PITTSBURGH - BETH MESSIAH SYNAGOGUE, Rabbi Ruth Harris, 3245 Beechwood Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15217, Phone: (412) 521-9436

Don't know anything about them - there is a second congregation listed for the Pittsburgh area as well, but it marked as "unknown if still meeting."

I like in the pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. Actually, 40 miles southwest of pittsburgh to be exact.

Sounds like somewhere between Washington, PA and Wheeling, WV. A drive west on I70 once a month to Beth Messiah in Columbus is possible. There are good folks there. Howard Silverman is the leader and Elliot Klayman is the assistant. Elliot is a former president of the UMJC and a pioneer in the movement.

I am sorry, this is the second of your post that I have intruded on. But that is only because you keep touching home for me. I have kept your first post going still by asking my own questions. My question to you, if you are willing to share, is how did you arrive at your conclusion to embrace MJ’ism? I am only asking because I am sincerely seeking out the truth and praying about it as you said you have been. Going by your first post, and inquiry into mj’ism , you seemed firmly rooted in your anti-law belief. What changed your mind? I have been studying the beliefs of the Messianic movement, and I remain unsure and torn between the two beliefs (law vs. no law). I was raised to believe the typical protestant view on the subject, but am no longer sure. Any insight you might offer would be appreciated.
