Aren't you the guy who posted not long ago that you considered yourself a saint?

I think you said something along the lines of...

"I don't like to call myself a saint, but I really can't think of a better term to use."

Wasn't that you?

I vaguely remember writing something like that. Ugh, I definitely would not use that term, and if that's close to what I wrote, there's a reason I started with "I don't like to call myself". I am nicer, more humble, and more open-minded than a lot of people I meet. Does that make me better than them? No. Someone less nice can be more honest if the honesty would cause offense. Someone who is close-minded can better decide who they are and stick to their guns. There's no real benefit in not being humble, as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't mean I feel better than anyone. Better at certain things, on an individual-by-individual basis, sure. Less at certain things, by those same individuals, definitely.

II see this in people to the point that they're downright frustrated or even angry that someone could even think to point out that someone is better than another person at such-and-such a quality, and God help the person who would try to coolheadedly and factually say that he himself is better than someone else in something. Because that's the equivocation: "I'm better than you at X" means "I'm better than you." That's the terror to overegalitarian ears.

Agreed.
