• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Well, to go see your doctor is usually the first thing you do if you have a depression that troubles you.

Maybe it could help talking here too if there is something special that makes you depressed.

And there is other things that might help, like exercise or doing something you like doing, for example reading a book or watching a movie or playing a game.

That's all I can think of. God bless you.

Hi there... Firstly, just to clarify that I'm not qualified to give you medical advice and diagnosis. From what I know, the meds are just to ensure your brain's chemical balance is right. It's still up to you, but I encourage you to take them. :) It did improve my mood when I was depressed last time...

Anyway, yeah, if you don't mind, you can discuss what sort of things run through your mind when you are down like this... Keeping things to ourselves and thinking too much only made depression a lot worse for me then. Feel free to talk k. I'm sure everyone here wants to try to help you in whatever way we can. :)

Go to Walmart or some where and buy a bottle of A&D vitamins.vitamin D is called the sunshine drug, because we get it naturally from the sun.when we are deficient it makes us depressed.doc's are quick to give you drugs because they love the kickbacks from the big pharms, but God gives us natural cures because He loves the kickbacks of praise, glory and healthy peeps!
I take it every day and can really tell a difference when I don't.
it may take a little while (week or two) to really help, but it will.
they are only like 2 or 3 bucks at most for a small bottle.

Blessings

Do you have any depression symptoms? The main symptom is a lack of wanting to do things you usually do everyday, or a lack of pleasure in them... like you have to give extra effort to enjoy them. Sometimes there's a sad mood you feel too; sometimes not. The symptoms vary and so does the degree of the depression. But yeah... you should tell your doctor how you feel.
