• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Then you are saved. I don't have any doubts from what you have said. Now you just are having to persevere. Just keep holding fast. I know it isn't easy, but God will see you through this even when all things look contrary to that. Jesus will rescue you. You have the authority to rebuke a spirit of fear and whatever else the enemy is throwing at you. Do not be afraid, just forget every other doubt and worry and cling to the Lord. He will not let you down.

She's right.:amen:

Revelation 3:20

"20": Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

He knocks at everyone's door. I was afraid too. I'm filled with the spirit now..I still have trouble accepting the amazing forgiveness.

Matthew 5:1-10

1: And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3: Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4: Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5: Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6: Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7: Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8: Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9: Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10: Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 11:28-30
28: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29: Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30: For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Hi Caty

My daughter, a clinical psychologist, has recently given me a complete profile of people with OCD. Here are a few of the symptoms:

1. Very little, if any, productive effort of any kind in the OCD person's life: No laundry, no housework, no hobbies or productive accomplishments of any kind.

2. OCD people are usually very intelligent, often realizing deep down that they haven't REALLY done the thing they're worried about. Some OCD people imagine that they have killed someone when they've actually done no such thing, sometimes even falsly confessing to murder at the local police department.

3. The OCD symptoms usually occupy the majority of all the person's waking hours.

4. The person usually cannot be "talked out of" their OCD no matter how logical the arguments of others trying to help may be. Correct medications are the first step to getting rid of OCD.

I personally knew of a girl with whom my daughter used to ride to college everyday. The girl I'm speaking of would stop her car every few miles to look under the car and make sure there wasn't a human body stuck under her car.

So, true OCD can be a real problem, sapping the life and peace from it's victims. According to my daughter, the first thing necessary, medically speaking, is to see a doctor who specializes in OCD and other psychological afflictions. Then the correct meds can be prescribed and OCD can be on the way out of the person's life. In no case should you try to avail yourself of the services of a general practitioner MD. It must be a doctor who specializes in psychological afflictions. Prayer sure wouldn't hurt either. The Lord uses doctors, they are from Him.

Best Blessings,

I'm still worried that I have, I wrote a couple of prophesy misnistries and its been almost 2-weeks, im afraid God doesn't have anythign to say to me. I have a little more hope but im not sure if i really have hope im ok, or if im just accepting what could be true and trying to move on.

you need to be careful, there are many false prophets in the world, take what they say and test it with HIS word.

God is the one to seek out, do exactly what James 1:5-7 tells you to do.

Be careful of the wisdom of man, everything needs to be tested by His Word, and caty from what I understand you are not grounded in it.

be careful.

Listen to what the folks tell you on here, and seek wisdom and understanding from HIM.

Blessings.:)

I know you want to hear something from God, but caty, how are you to test a prophets word if it came from God if you are not grounded in His word to be able to test it with?

Think about what I am saying.

Just because someone says what they say is from God, doesnt mean it is from God, we are told to test all things.

Go in your bible and read James 1:5-7 out loud.

The epistle of James is a very important book, it is about Christian living.

Go read James and you will understand what I am talking about

I have a friend, she thinks if I do not respond to her email or help her out in a certain way than God has given up on her, I cannot begin to even express how dangerous and decieving this pattern of thinking is.

Sometimes we just need to be silent and wait for Him.

Blessings:)

im afraid. he'll never help me.

This is something that I need to remember myself, but let me ask you a question?

How can He help you if you do not even give Him a chance to.

I know your afraid, I know the fear you have because I have had it in myself many times before, but if you do not step out in faith and allow Him to help you,how can He?

I know you feel that perhaps you would be disappointed,or that if you step out in faith you will find that He doesnt want to help you,or that if you believe on Him now and when you die you may find that you will not be with Him.

But all these things, if you get yourself grounded in His Word, you will find that it is contrary to what He has to say.

God's word doesnt cancel itself out, this verse in the bible about the blasphemy doesnt cancel any scriptures out.

You have the wrong interpretation, this interpretation you have comes from the root of fear, not of love and definitely not from a sound mind.

God wants all of us to just step out in Faith, right now you need to listen to what people are saying in this thread and just allow Him to help you.

This whole "I am afraid, He won't help me" attitude is not allowing Him to help you.

The attitude of "God loves me,He knows I do not want these thoughts,He loves me just the way I am" is an attitude that will allow Him to Help you.

We have spoken many times, you know I went through all of this. You also know what I said about getting this fixed. This attitude you have is not going to fix it:hug:

Honestly, I would forget the letters to the prophetic ministry, because you have no grounds on testing them because you are not grounded in His Word, you are just setting yourself up to an open-door of being decieved.

I am not saying these prophetic ministries are fake, but without testing them properly, it is best to leave them be. This person never should have advised this but they wouldnt have known you are not grounded in HIS Word.

The folks on this forum know what they are speaking about on this situation.

Stay away from these internet pages on learning what this is about, because the very pages on the internet has destroyed my faith, blew it to pieces and instilled inside me more legalism than you would know..

What you need is HIS understanding and wisdom.

What you need and me too, is to get grounded thoroughly in His Word. You need that foundation.

We are told to hold everything captive to His Word (
2 Corinthians 10:5)

Your thoughts, your feelings, your attitude, who you think you are,the suggestions you have in your mind, every decision we make in our life, everything needs to be held up to His word and when they do not align to it, we toss it away and when it seems like it may, we pray for wisdom and understanding just like James 1:5-7 asks us to.

I bet if you would just step out in Faith, wait patiently and quiet (sometimes we talk to much and dont hear God) in time God will give you understanding.

This whole "I am afraid. He won't help me" attitude is NOT from God, it is actually from the enemy trying to keep you away from God, and from being delivered.

I remember someone saying,(along the lines of) If Satan isn't bothering you, than you sure aren't bothering him.

I can see him bothering you quite a bit. You are a threat to Him. And as you grow in the Lord you will become an even bigger threat, but by that time you will understand what it means to put the WHOLE armor of God on and withstand the enemy.

You are so young, I see the love you have for Him and want to have for the Lord, God will and is able to use you greatly for His Kingdom.

God loves you with an everlasting love and is drawing you to Him with an everlasting Kindness (Jeremiah 31:3)

You are a threat to Satan.

A child who loves the Lord is a beautiful thing.

Don't give up on Him. Because this attitude is leading you into that direction.

Blessings:)
