• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

You are human. :)
We are lost but by God's saving Grace, but that doesn't mean we become "unhuman", is that a word? ;)
When you sin...repent. When you have sinful thoughts, remember the love of Christ, and then try to correct things and repent again.
Life is repentance for a Christian. :)
IMHO you are repenting just by posting here. :)

My sister has extreme OCD and is on lots of meds...I know of that struggle well. She blames God for it...I pray for her everyday.
You are not obviously to that point and you won't be...pray, repent, realize your struggle and realize God's will despite your human frailties. We all have them too. :)

that's just where my whole fear of the unforgiveable sin comes into place ---because when im trying t fight off the intrusive thoughts i verbalize some of them but i dunno if im mad at God or my ocd or anything and the whole "speaks a word against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven" gets me. cause i dont cant remember if i had any bad intent or not.

im not trying to debate i promise, but see im one of those people who believes that sin can be committed today--so that makes my worries stronger---i wish i could believe it couldnt be.

We all sin today, we all do I promise...it's humanity, for even the saved. :)
God knows this and forgives us...has forgiven us by the atonement of our Lord and His Son Jesus on the Cross. :)
The only sinless person to ever walk on this planet in this universe is Jesus Christ...don't expect to be sinless to be saved.
You are not debating either. :)

Forgivableness(that a word?) and strength are not the same thing.
You have strength just by opening up here on CF sister! :)

no--i just mean that, if i could get it through my head that maybe im forgiveable that i know i could be strong in Christ because ive learned SO much about God by worrying and asking people different stuff and i know i could help a lot of people who are in the same situation as i am in.

You are strong in Christ and your are forgiveable.
You are helping me now. :)
My sister has OCD and blames God....I am working on her trying to prove that God is not to blame, and your words are wise here. You are strong in Christ in my honest opinion just by the fact that you realize what's what...and you admit to learning so much by asking questions. :)

No it cannot...that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit speech by Jesus was for the Pharisees only. Just my opinion.
It doesn't make sense that it would apply today.
If repentance means anything...why would God hold ONE thing against someone in these times?
He won't with repentance.
People that blaspheme the Holy Spirit without repentance or realization that "crap my humanity just messed up" are not saved to begin with here. ;)

whats always confused me about that interpretation is if someone can blaspheme Jesus without Him being in front of them or the same with God then why not the Holy Spirit? do you get me? Like, if you can say something about Jesus and it blasphemes Him ( it is still blasphemy of Jesus) so why not the same with the Holy Spirt---that has always confused me, could you answer that?

Hi again Caty!

Almost forgot, Here are some verses, often misused by Satan to harass believers:
==============================================================================
1Jo 1:8 If WE SAY that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Hbr 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Hbr 6:4-6 For [it is] impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put [him] to an open shame.

1Jo 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, (so ye may know) that ye sin not (in your spirit). And if ANY MAN sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: (underlines, parentheses, color and size emphases are my own).
=============================================================================

Ok, I'll go through (debunk) the above verses one at a time:

1 John 1:8: "If WE say we have no sin," WE are WAY out of line. Because WE are not God, and only GOD can say "We have no sin" (in our spirit), and He often says exactly that in His Word.

Hebrews 10:26: "If we sin willfully after that we have received (heard) the knowledge of the truth." This verse refers ONLY to unbelievers who have heard the Gospel of Christ and then ignored it! "wherewith he was sanctified" refers to Jesus' sanctification of all creation, accomplished right from the foundation of the world so that the Father could even deal with it, or even look upon it! It does NOT mean that this person is saved,

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness." If you are cleansed from ALL unrighteousness, it will never have to be done again, unless the Lord did a sloppy job the first time!

Heb 4:4-6: "If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put [him] to an open shame." This refers to a believer who has fallen away from GRACE in favor of going back to trying to keep the Law perfectly. Since they are ALREADY born again, they can't be "born again, again." Once they have repented and become regenerated (born again), it's already been done once permanently and forever. So stop wasting your time trying to get these believers "resaved." The miracle has already happened!. Just get them some good teaching instead!

"Putting Christ to an open shame" is basically saying that His sacrifice wasn't sufficient to completely accomplish full salvation and that He will need your "Lawkeeping" efforts to get the job done right.:p

1 John 2:1: "If ANY MAN sin we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous." This is obviously a verse referring to "ANY MAN" who has not yet accepted Christ and been born again. This "ANY MAN" had better fall down on his knees and call out to the Father for a spiritual adoption into the lineage of "the Last Adam."

Best Blessings,
"Arph"

It's not, it's all equal...but you haven't even come close to doing what Jesus was talking about in scripture.

then what did they do??

another things that gets me confused (and I 'll stop for tonight :)) is if we do not take what Jesus said literally about the unforgiveable sin, then will we not be placing man's view or prespective on something that is of God?
