Since this post was made awhile ago, what I think probably won't matter. But, I encourage you to read the epistles (Especially Romans, Ephesians, Peter as so many have cited from them).

Ultimately, it is best that you "own" the decision you make, and not just do it because someone said so.

Hi,
I'm not a Christian but as a student of Byzantine history, the issue of baptism comes up regularly. Among early Christians, baptism was taken extremely seriously (not to say it's not today, but I'm talking about ceremonial infant baptism.) For this reason many Christians in fact postponed baptism until old age; some were even baptised in their death-beds, as in the famous example of Constantine the Great, which was not unique to him but rather quite a common practice.

Jesus said the christians born again of water and spirit, it means Jesus wants a symbolic and spiritual Baptism.

hi,
Prode
John 3

3In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.[1] "
4"How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!"
5Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[2] gives birth to spirit.

Its clear from the context that both Nicodemus and Jesus are comparing natural birth with spiritual birth.

I think you shouldn't not want to get baptized. All it is is a bit of water, a cross on your head and then its over with. My mom and I have been talking about getting me baptized. The reason I wasn't when I was a baby was because whenever I touched water or water touched me, I would freak out... Who knows.. But anyways, I think once you get to your dads house, go to church for a while and then talk about getting baptized to your father.

I hoped that helps.

I will pray for you. (alot!)
Doesn't being baptized mean full immersion under the water and not just being sprinkled?

Depends on your beliefs. Many denominations believe that a sprinkling is sufficient, but others believe full immersion is necessary. I was sprinkled as a teen when I accepted Jesus into my life. But I have never been fully immersed and I refuse to do it. For which reason I cannot become a full member of my current church. I feel like I was baptized once, why should I have to do it again. It's like they are saying that my previous commitment to Jesus was not good enough.

I'm sure it's a moot point by now as the OP has probably already made a decision, but I think you should go with your heart and what your heart tells you is right. God will lead you in the right way to go, if your intentions are truly good.

Whether or not baptism is required for salvation will be argued for ages but it is an act that is definitely encouraged for all Christians to take part in.

Romans 6:1-10
1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
5 If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin-- 7 because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

Acts 2:36-41
36 "Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"
38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call."
40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

1 Peter 3:18-22
18 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, 19 through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison 20 who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, 21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also--not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand--with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him
