  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Illuminati?

Ok, my daughter comes home from school today (she's a senior) and tells me they're teaching on Illuminati at school. I had no clue what she was talking about so started doing some research. Now my brain is overloaded with way too much info! lol

My research took me to:

Illuminati - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

| Illuminati News | The Secret Order of the Illuminati

The Illuminati

Anyway, I first thought this is just some kind of conspiracy theory, but some of these "secret society" type groups have existed in history. I'm not sold on whether they exist today or not.

I guess the questions I would like to pose are:

Should this be "taught" in schools?

Do you believe there is some "secret society" controlling things?

How do you feel such a group impacts your life and the world as a whole?

Note: this is not intended as a conspiracy theory thread, but merely to discuss the concept of such groups and their validity and impact

I am a high school teacher and recently taught a topic to my Year 9 classes which I called "Conspiracies - Theory or Fact?"

It is not up to us tell tell the student whether the particular conspiracy is theory or fact but encourage them to research the information and form their own opinion based on the information they are confronted with.

Why shouldn't students research about the Bush family connection to "SKULL AND BONES" and the fact that BUSH and OBAMA are RELATED. etc, etc, etc...

Rev 19:19
And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.

Sounds like a conspiracy to me.
How on earth do you expect satan to pull this off without a massive global conspiracy? What do you think satan does with his time? How do you think satan operates in this world? Do you even believe in satan? ("boogie man?"... are you for real?!?!)

What kind of evidence do you need. I have it coming out my ears. Ask away!!!

Try this for starters.
You'll never think the same way again. . . The Revelation

Have you actually read the Bible?

I think he's heard of the bible, and believes satan is a boogie man, It doesn't matter how much evidence you provide of the NWO, some folks prefer to live with their head up/in the sand. Its not like its some conspiracy secret, they're very open about their plans, they have people like himself working for their side and their leader.

Opinion, interpretation and hubris are not evidence. The Dispensationalist interpretation is but one viewpoint and is certainly not the linchpin of salvation.

John had to write cryptically because of the dangerous time (for Christians) in which he lived. Christians of the day probably had a greater understanding than we do because the symbols and imagery readily fit the world dominated by the brutal Roman Empire (e.g., Nero and Domitian).

People have been trying to make current events fit Revelation for centuries without success. I say that as a former dispensationalist.

what does Revelations have to do with whether or not satan is a real being or not, Jesus believed he was real, why don't you

Revelation (along with many other scriptures) is a a rather cryptic collection that is subject to various interpretation. I'll gladly have a discussion about this theological point, although that may need to be in another thread...

You may want to refresh yourself about the Forum Rules as well.

Certain portions are, but others are pretty clear. I'm an atheist, but I've ready the entire book of revelations and I don't see how a fundamentalist Christian can deny the illuminati. It states that there willl be 10 kings without kingdoms. I understand that to mean 10 people who have the power of kings, but don't hold office for any particular country.

Obviously, I don't believe the theory for biblical reasons, but for a Christian, it should be a no brainer.

Who said anything about dispensationalism?
This teaching (of the pre-tribulation rapture) is sourced in hell. If you study where it came from, it is very 'illuminating'.
It came from the Jesuits, then...
Was popularised by Darby who was financed by the Illuminati East India Company to spread the teaching (EIC where the first big global drug enterprise)
Further popularised by Schofield who was probably a Theosophist. His Schofield Bible is full of Theosophical terms.
Oh, and there is a 'spiritist' vision in there somewhere too. No Bible scholar or theologian taught this prior to the 19 Century!

Tim LaHaye of the Left Behind series has a clear Masonic symbol on two of his books and the movie's have been connected to occult dates.
Left Behind & LaHaye's Masonic Connections
Occult Symbols on Tim LaHaye's Books

This teaching is designed to make Christians think they will escape the 'tribulation' period, thus making them completely unprepared. They will also be more likely to partake in the 'beast' system, as they won't be expecting to be here when it arrives.

This article spells it out nicely!

Or if you want more depth, this book is essential!

Some people geniunely have no idea who's leading them, much like people who unknowingly use satanic symbols, and user names at this websight, even if I didn't believe the illuminati existed, since they were directly tied to the occult and satan, it would be the last thing I would use as a user name on a Christian websight, that is if I really did believe in God and the whole bible

what does Revelations have to do with whether or not satan is a real being or not, Jesus believed he was real, why don't you

I was responding to Satan having a "kingdom", which I recalled from Revelation.

My point is that "boogie-man Satan" is an extreme oversimplification that minimizes free will and trivializes evil. Scripture uses "Satan" and "Devil" many ways as both the name of a being and a given title to a being.

The world isn't a comic book, and the Illuminati, NWO, et al are comic book-style constructs. The extremely wealthy and powerful have always worked together (conspired) to their own advantage. Without them, many bad things might not exist. But some good things might not as well. There would be no major industries, including this very media without these people.

The spiritual warfare is within, not without.

no Christian can expect you to understand spiritual things, which is what the illuminati are all about, whether you know it or not
Do have any evidence to back that assertion? Conspiracy folks always project their fears onto the Illuminati (which disbanded long ago btw) and it becomes whatever they fantasize about.

Was Thomas Jefferson a Satanist too because he seemed to respect the founder of the Illuminati Adam Weishaupt?

The Illuminati wasn't an occult order. It was more rationalist / atheist in orientation.

You really should do some more research, Illuminaughty. You name yourself after an order you know nothing about. The Illuminati are about as occult as one could possibly be.
And yes, atheism is often just a front. The evidence points to Karl Marx being a satanist for example.

This book is superb!

I agree the Illuminati has reached the mainstream in a comic-book fashion.
THIS IS ALL BY DESIGN!

It is so people (such as yourself) dismiss them as being such. I implore you to do some serious research and find out the truth about the elite families. There are soooo many good books out there done by some very serious researchers. This 600 page work is staggering in it's depth of information. Impossible to debunk, you'll be convinced halfway through the first chapter (on the Astor family). Amazon have it ;)

What fears? Hope you are not projecting your fears onto me!

Illuminati disbanded long ago... who told you that?... did they... LOL :D

Seriously, Illuminaughty.... if they did disband all those years ago, what makes you think they haven't reformed or simply went more underground.

Illuminati? I can't wait to play for that team!

The Secret World - Illuminati Trailer - YouTube

If your feeling flush with cash, do yourself a favour and buy the 1995 edition of the Illuminati New World Order card game. It's a collectors item now and'll cost you a few hundred dollars but it's worth every cent! (Amazon have it). It's famous for the 9/11 cards (see below) but all the cards (450 of them) have something very revealing to say about the Illuminati method. This website will show you all the cards:
