It was dedicated to democracy, equality, the overthrow of monarchies, religious tolerance, reason and other Enlightenment concepts (how horrible ). It was eventually disbanded but before it was the monarchs and clerics so thoroughly demonized it that their fame never really died. Now they are conspiracy theorists favorite boogie man.

I guess the questions I would like to pose are:

Should this be "taught" in schools?

Do you believe there is some "secret society" controlling things?

How do you feel such a group impacts your life and the world as a whole?

To answer your questions, I have no problem with it being taught in schools. Some of the subject matter on the illuminati is unproven theories, but then again, so is some of the material in their history books could fall in the same category.

I don't think it's a secret society...in fact, they're in plain sight.

If you look at the following bloodlines: Rothschild, Morgan, Warburgs, and Rockefellers...you'll see that they've been controlling the currency and international banking for generations and almost every major country on the planet is in debt (via interest) to them in some capacity.

Well as far as their impact today, I'm not sure that it goes past simply controlling interest rates and making huge profit. As far as their historical impact, they're the entity responsible for US involvement in Vietnam & WW2 by using their media ties to publish false info about the Gulf of Tonkin incident and paying off US Military officials to purposely leave Pearl Harbor underdefended. Reason: When a big nation goes to war they have to borrow a lot of money from a central bank at interest.

They've also been guilty of loaning money to both sides in a conflict to prolong the war (which increases the debt).

They did this in the American Revolution, Civil War, WW2, and Korean war. They almost got busted in WW2 for it when they found out that Hitler's tanks were running on a fuel that had a special additive...that additive was a one of a kind that's patent was held by US standard oil (owned by Rockefeller). So the same people were both loaning money to the allies, while loaning fuel to the bad guys.

Well, I don't need to fantasize because it's provable.

The international bankers don't even try to hide what they're doing, they (who just happen to run the federal reserve and IMF) published a book called "Modern Money Mechanics"...it's a how-to guide to show step by step how to inflate the money supply at will and enslave a nation through debt.

I think Bill Hicks said it quite well:
