CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

IJWTS: I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally don't want to go to work today. I know everyone is going to be in a crappy mood and I really don't want to deal with it. I understand WHY they'll be their moods and it has NOTHING to do with me but I'm just not in the mood to be crapped on all day. The situation is horrible and I feel horrible about it but I hate the way people at work go around acting like jerks just because they CAN. I would call off today but we're already short-staffed.

IJWTS: a laugh (or at least I thought it was funny). My dad and my sister were working outside in my yard yesterday while I was at work. The meter reader guy came by and dad was talking to him (they were acquainted from a previous job). I guess the guy turns to my sister and asks her if she's "the girl on the radio". I get a laugh when people ask my family that because I'm not on there that much so it still surprises me when people mention they've listened or whatever. I'm just part time there and not even worthy of mention on the station's websites so I've never thought that much about it. lol

Never thought about that. I was planning on hiding in my corner and doing my thing...i.e., avoiding everyone. I know there is enough work to keep me busy. Thank God! The girls probably could use hugs with what happened yesterday but I don't feel comfortable doing that with them. One of them has been really aloof towards me the last two or three days anyway. I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything or say anything to raise her ire. She can be pretty moody at times (but she'd never admit it!). But...I think she had been trying to wean herself off the same evil meds I weaned myself off of back in May. And...she's tried about 3 times this year (that I know of) to quit smoking.

Just wanted to post an update: got to work, talked to one of the guys who was friends with the deceased (former) coworker and he told me that the cops are treating her death as a homicide. Praying for her son. My heart breaks for him.

Thanks. I think everyone here at the station is basically in shock. I felt sorry for the news guys this morning who had to read the story on the air. That had to be hard.
Your BBQ sounds fun. I looked at the weather forecast and we are supposed to get storms here tomorrow. If that happens, I'm hoping that an event will be rained out...which would cause me to not have to work....and if my friend calls me about a BBQ they were thinking about having, I would be a happy camper! LOL
(okay...the BBQ would be at *somebody's* house )

yeah....I've never had to deal with that but I know that my dad has tried a zillion times over the last 20 years.

update again: the girl in question ^ spoke up and said "hi" first thing when she saw me today. I swear I'll never understand women!!! (and I AM one! LOL) I'm glad she seems to be doing alright today. She was friends with the deceased as well.

IJWTS I thought canoeing would be tougher since I only did it once when I was 16 or so. We totally destroyed 8 miles and we were going slow! I want to do a loooong canoeing trip now.

I loooooooooooooove canoeing! I haven't done it in about 12 years though. Nobody I know IRL likes to do things that involve being in water.

IJWTS: Work went well today. Thanks to anyone who may have prayed. People were more chilled out than I thought they would be. I guess they were doing an autopsy this afternoon so if there are any criminal charges pending, I'll know about it when I do my newscast in the morning. Just so weird. You never know! She was a nice, professional, good woman and I didn't know the husband but from what people at the station have said, it's not like he was a horrible person, to their knowledge. Just really sad.
IAWTS: I found out that I'm off MONDAY!! WHOO HOOOO!!! My cousin called me a few minutes ago and we might get together. That would sooooooooo rawk!!! My sister and I have made plans for tomorrow night so that's cool too.
