CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

IJWTS: I just found out that a former coworker from the radio station died today. I don't know the details but she wasn't much older than me and as far as I knew she was healthy. I really feel bad for her son right now and the rest of the family. I'm shocked.

IJWTS try to stop worrying about offending people or dissecting why they're not responding when you think they would/should be. Sometimes posts get accidentally overlooked or sometimes people just forget b/c they think they'll come back to something when they have more time. Or, sometimes, they simply don't respond.
It doesn't mean you have or haven't done something, so stop beating yourself up and thinking that you've offended someone or that they've put you on ignore or whatever. Way too much negative energy being expended that way.

IJWTS: I WISH I could talk to someone without being judged about something IRL that has been bugging me lately. It's not necesarily a *bad* thing but I just wish I could share it with an objective, yet Christian POV. *sigh* Hopefully I can connect with an old friend soon. She owes me one. lol

IJWTS awww this is a cool old man. He's 107 but he never planned to live this long so he's outlived his savings twice.
