IJWTS I have to agree with dB's assessment of the Jon and Kate saga.

I wasn't entirely surprised by the end result, but think Jon would have fared well (esp if all he does is for the sake of his kids like he said) to find his voice sooner in his marriage and seek counseling. Apparently, his hair transplant and her tummy tuck (and teeth whitening for both of them) were higher on the priority list.

IJWTS QFT.

IAJWTS I don't really know much about what happened but I did hear he supposedly cheated on Kate with another woman -- I don't know if that is true but if it is, what kind of woman sleeps with a man that is married with 8 kids? Just... wow.

IJWTS what kind of woman sleeps with a married man period? (and the reversal of that). My guess is the girl he cheated with is caught up in infatuation over his "star" status and the lifestyle he affords to live by pimping his family out for reality TV.

IJWTS-No, not at all. :D I loved your use of "pimping his family out for reality TV".

IJWTS hehe - seriously tho, it's how I see what they're doing. Then they have the nerve to say they feel like they have to shield their kids from the paparazzi. Ummm, hello? If you didn't plaster your kids all over TV then the paparazzi wouldn't care less about them.

IJWTS sorry if the bolded part came across harsh. I'm not trying to pass judgement on anyone. I just have really strong feelings on that topic in particular for very personal reasons. :sorry:

IJWTS it did not come off as harsh. I have pretty strong feelings toward that topic, too. However I just think it is somewhat on a worse level to knowingly do something that will greatly effect the lives of 8 children who you've got to have seen time and time again on TV. I don't know how a man or woman could sleep with someone married in the first place (kids or no kids) but to do that even with having seen the children's faces is just beyond me.

ijwts- this is my opinion of Jon and Kate plus 8. I don't watch them, never have and i'm disgusted by them.
I never watch this show ever. But tonight I watched just to see what their big announcement was..... oy. I had really hoped against hope that their announcement was they were quitting the show to focus on their kids and their marriage, but alas it was not. Personally, I think this show is nothing more than a trainwreck and a circus. I'm ashamed of myself for breaking down to the hype. Shame on TLC and the parents for continuing with this. The kids are delightful and cute, but they deserve some privacy, especilly now. If the parents want to air themselves on tv, it's one thing- but the kids shouldn't have to "perform" to be entertainment for others- especially not in this confusing time for them. It's like they are one big cash cow for the parents and for the network. Divorce or seperation is confusing and painful enough for kids w/o shoving a camera in their face to see how they are reacting so millions of people everywhere can be amused.
Jon and Kate were two bad personality mixes from the start. He was happy to let her boss him around and tell him what to do and she was happy to be in charge and to berate anyone in her way. If this show was truly about the kids, someone should have stepped up to be the hero and said NO MORE SHOW. They need to get counseling and to focus on their children's emotional needs not get their kids 5 thousand dollar play houses and act like all of a sudden they are concerned about fighting with each other to garner ratings. Jon is only too happy to sport his diamond stud earings that his kid's paid for. And Kate is only too happy to prance around in different designer outfits and $300 shoes to go to the grocery store. Neither of them wants to get off the money train for their kid's emotional well being.

IJWTS I totally agree.

IJWTS-Inkabink is probably right.
To be completely honest, I don't usually post prayers because I don't always believe that people are willing to prayer for me. When I've asked for prayers in the past for my nephew, I've gotten a very good response--which I'm grateful for--but otherwise I feel like my prayer requests often get ignored (as unimportant or whatever).

QFT, I feel this way too. Especially since I'm not posting here much, if I do ask for prayer or whatnot, I feel like I am ignored. :-\ I feel ignored anyway, but when you need prayer and yes, ask for it, which I do agree is hard to do, it stings. Prayer is so important. When I see a PR I pray for it, or something that looks like one, even when I don't know what to say. Maybe I'll start speaking up so people know they aren't ignored and respect that I'm probably not being ignored either.

IJWTS - Are there any Christian women out there who don't watch television, yet enjoy all kinds of music? I like the idea of going to concerts with my future SO, but I'm turned off by the idea of her sitting in front of the boob tube or Hulu for hours on end. In my opinion, it's better to read a book, play an instrument, go outside, pick up a new hobby, or even post on message boards.
