IJWTS-Inkabink is probably right.
To be completely honest, I don't usually post prayers because I don't always believe that people are willing to prayer for me. When I've asked for prayers in the past for my nephew, I've gotten a very good response--which I'm grateful for--but otherwise I feel like my prayer requests often get ignored (as unimportant or whatever).

Really?

Is that because of the post count versus how many times the thread was viewed? Or something else?

IJWTS-When I've posted prayer request threads, the view and post count is low. I've noticed that in Singles, but much more so in the past in the women's forum, the number of responses and views to a prayer request thread depend a lot on who posted them. I wouldn't say I'm at the lowest end of responses, but it bothers me when a prayer request thread from one person will get 2 responses, but another person (posting a prayer request thread the same day or day before), will get pages of responses---and neither of the prayers involved life-threatening issues that tend to get more prayers overall.

In my post, I was also referring to prayer requests in this thread and others. I've seen a person or two ask for prayer in this (or any of the IJWTS threads) ask for prayer and at least 3 people will respond. I have asked for prayer in this thread (or one of the other IJWTS threads, I don't remember which) and received no responses.

For an independant person, asking for help is not always easy. So, you stop asking for help when no one seems to care anyway. I still pray for people, but I don't usually post that in threads anymore. I'm not trying to be emo, but Becky asked the question and I thought it deserved an honest answer.

Lol.. you're not being emo at all, Historia. :) I understand what you're saying... and it's something I've noticed in some ways, as well. That's always in the back of my head when I see those threads; the person who posts the thread and why certain people will get more responses than others. I also notice when people "come out of the floorboards" (or out of nowhere) to post in someone's request thread.

You're so right though. It isn't easy to ask for help.. and it's kind of saddening when some people appear not to care about someone else. When I "ask for" prayer or something on here, it typically just blurts out in a tangent. I don't think I've ever made a prayer request thread, so...

I'm sorry. No you are not being emo...I understand that too. Which is why I'm always hesitant in posting anything. I've noticed this trend too.

I guess it doesn't help that I often don't respond unless I feel like I have something useful to say. :doh:Usually it's because I'm afraid of saying something wrong or figure that it won't make any difference anyway.

IJWTS-It's okay, I don't expect everyone to respond. It's not as if I see you respond to others, but not me. That would bother me. That's why I will sometimes (more so in the past) just rep someone saying "praying" or post a praying emoticon in a thread, it's because I don't know what to say but I want them to know that they are being prayed for.

That's a good idea. I haven't thought of that much. :)

yep yep... if the family of 8 cant make it what does that say for the rest of us?
IJWTS What's that supposed to mean? Kate is a total witch. And I believe that Jon would try to make things work out but Kate is so flippin' witchy that I don't think it would matter.

Anyway, Jon cheating on her was wrong but I totally understand why he did it.

Also want to say that understanding =/= condoning.

IJWTS- I don't watch the show, but have heard that Jon is just as much to blame by mentally checking out. I would be a witch too with 8 kids and no real support from hubby. I have no idea if that's the case with Kate and Jon, though, because I've never seen a single episode.

IJWTS I have to agree with dB's assessment of the Jon and Kate saga.

I wasn't entirely surprised by the end result, but think Jon would have fared well (esp if all he does is for the sake of his kids like he said) to find his voice sooner in his marriage and seek counseling. Apparently, his hair transplant and her tummy tuck (and teeth whitening for both of them) were higher on the priority list.
