Hear ya. And you're right, at least in one sense. Our national security comes before what's happening in Iran. We must first protect our own people and our own interests. But at the same time, it makes me sick to think that what's going on in Iran is seen by "us" as "their problem." I feel the same way about Darfur and other issues of injustice and/or humanitarian crises. To quote MLK's Letter From a Birmingham Jail, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." What's happening in Iran is also personal for me, as I have a good friend in Tehran. I got an email from her the other day that detailed how her cousins were shot at when they were protesting in Azadi (FREEDOM) Square and how they've heard rumors that the Iranian government is taking the bodies of the dead protestors from civilian hospitals (which by law, they aren't supposed to be admitted to in the first place, but the Iranian military hospitals can't handle that many wounded) and burying them in mass graves.

As a Christian and, moreover, as a human being, it is hard for me to understand why Senator So-And-So's disgusting Argentinean escapade is more important to me than the suffering of the Iranian people. Truly, it makes me sick to know that this is happening in our world. Although yes, of course the current situation with North Korea's Kang Nam is vital in its own right. I guess the INFJ ethical humanitarian in me is coming out. That is, of course, unless we're talking about putting a .50 cal sniper round through Kim Jong Ill's head. In that case, forget being humane. Stop that sucker in his tracks so we don't have to deal with such a punk anymore.

IJWTS-My humanitarian side is that free people have to stand up against tyranny and I hope so much that their cause is won...the Iranian people are doing that, its not the first time, yet there is a cost to that till the tyranny is gone...its called blood. I hate that fact, but its just reality. The sad consequence of fighting against tyranny...a consequence I wish wasn't so. Yet to me, it shouldn't be realistic that after the devastation of Hiroshima, Nagasaki and how we learned the devastation of nuclear weapons, we now have to be concerned with some country we already fought a war with because they want nuclear weapons so bad, they are threatening our country which doesn't give any hope to how North Korea is going to be able act globally responsible.

Trust me, I understand random, but what makes you say that ????

I couldn't get the baby smell out of my clothes yesterday. :)

The cut is healing nicely from the STAB WOUND from the cat, but dang was that cut deep. Sheesh.

I guess some animals just really hate being denied some petting action. :ahah:

:sorry:

IJWTS - [sarcasm] I love it when coworkers interrupt, give half-butted pat answers, and steal my thunder at work. It’s not only a boon to the people we support, but it also boosts the morale of our team as a whole.[/sarcasm]

I can't even imagine the impact this will have on others...

Certainly, I grew up listening to his music (and rocking the wear :sorry: ). The music and the movement is something that cannot ever be replicated. Ever.

Yet. He is a mere man. Farrah Fawcett passed away today, as well. She is deserving of rememberance in the same breath. Her strength and determination to perservere past her illness is admirable.

May God's peace rest on both families. :crossrc:

I'm sorry you are experiencing such a difficult time today. :(

Thank you so much.

I realize that this is simply part of a long distance relationship: it can be very arduous, and some days are worse than others. However, I have absolutely no doubt that he is worth this and so much more. :) No amount of time or distance throughout our lives has resulted in the death of our love for one another, therefore I view these circumstances as yet another opportunity to strengthen and deepen our bond even further.

You have a great perspective on things. :)

I must strive to retain such a perspective, else I will go mad and believe me, I must strive mightily! :p

In all honesty, it is my beloved who soothes me and helps me a great deal. I blossom under his care. :)

IJWTS-I'm stoked that Creed is getting back together. Hoping I can maybe make it to the concert here in Hershey, PA that is only 10min. away to see the reunion tour and the new material, but if not, I'll calm myself down :p Might I add, Scott Stapp looks rad without all that long hair.

To Starcradle: He sounds like a very special man. A rare and beautiful find.

I'm actually quite surprised to be reading much of what you say about him and not feel a tinge of jealousy... ever. I'm genuinely happy for the both of you... and even though I wish to have that kind of special love with someone, I cannot even for a second be green about it. :)

Phew.. thank you, Lord. ;)

Gracias, amiga.

(Realmente se me hace dificil imaginar que alguien podria tener celos de mi o algun aspecto de mi vida, asi que jamas se me ocurrio que tu los hubieras tenido en ningun momento. Ya vez que tenia razon!) :)

IJWTS that I love overcast days! :)
