IJWTS-Why can't when I watch the news, find anything about what is going on in North Korea? All I get is the mass coverage of an adulterous Republican senator. [shakes head]

Dude, seriously. There are nuclear threats, revolutions and a billion other things happening, and I have to spend my afternoon watching some adulterous scumbag talk about how "sorry" he is. If you as me, the Republican party is going down the toilet... and I'm a registered Republican. American politics in general are so flippin' petty anymore, too. It's ridiculous. Ugh.

IJWTS-You bring up revolution...I'm worried that what is going on in Iran is pushing what is going on in North Korea under the rug. Forgive me here, but I support the Iranian people to liberate themselves and get more civil rights etc. wouldn't be the first time they tried, but when our country doesn't even recognize diplomatic relations with Iran, so we really have no say if their elections were legit or not because we have no diplomacy with them, and when North Korea threatens us with nuclear war and you gotta love the administration's officials saying, "It's testing the new administration", which isn't the first and that's my point, I want to hear about that more than what is going on in Iran.

[okaydokie...Im_A needs to calm down because he already blogged about this. Whew...drinking my wine, going out for a cigarette and calming down.]

IJWTS - Had a pretty good day. Had a good workout, went tanning, played with my son, then watched the US play well verse Spain in the FIFA Condererations Cup.

I loved Dempsey's goal. Not sure how the defender lost track of him, but he made him pay for it.

Hear ya. And you're right, at least in one sense. Our national security comes before what's happening in Iran. We must first protect our own people and our own interests. But at the same time, it makes me sick to think that what's going on in Iran is seen by "us" as "their problem." I feel the same way about Darfur and other issues of injustice and/or humanitarian crises. To quote MLK's Letter From a Birmingham Jail, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." What's happening in Iran is also personal for me, as I have a good friend in Tehran. I got an email from her the other day that detailed how her cousins were shot at when they were protesting in Azadi (FREEDOM) Square and how they've heard rumors that the Iranian government is taking the bodies of the dead protestors from civilian hospitals (which by law, they aren't supposed to be admitted to in the first place, but the Iranian military hospitals can't handle that many wounded) and burying them in mass graves.

As a Christian and, moreover, as a human being, it is hard for me to understand why Senator So-And-So's disgusting Argentinean escapade is more important to me than the suffering of the Iranian people. Truly, it makes me sick to know that this is happening in our world. Although yes, of course the current situation with North Korea's Kang Nam is vital in its own right. I guess the INFJ ethical humanitarian in me is coming out. That is, of course, unless we're talking about putting a .50 cal sniper round through Kim Jong Ill's head. In that case, forget being humane. Stop that sucker in his tracks so we don't have to deal with such a punk anymore.

IJWTS two things :)

Everybody cheats. hehe. I don't really care that the governor of SC cheated on his wife even though it's a total douche bag thing to do. What I care more about is that he abandoned his post as governor and said "screw you" to his constituency. Electing somebody and thinking "oh they would never cheat on their spouse" is almost as ridiculous as trusting a lawyer never to lie. Even this country's media darling, President Obama, is only human and you never know... if he had some hottie like Beyonce in his oval office and Michelle and the kids were in Chicago for the weekend, I wonder if he could really turn her down? hehehehehehe.

Second thing I want to say (or really ask) is why do people debate the whole get married or stay single thing as if there is an answer to that question that applies to everyone?

My answer to that question btw is:

Do yo thang man. I ain't mad at cha. If you want to get married, and have most of your ducks in a row to make it easy for both of you, then do it. If you don't feel called to, then don't. What's so hard about that? Seriously?

Sometimes I think Christians overanalyze things and make them more complicated than they have to be. Quit listening to the pundits, pray, formulate your own opinion, and execute.

14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die,
we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the
Lord’s.
14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he
might be Lord both of the dead and living.
14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at
nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat
of Christ.
14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to
me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this
rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in
his brother’s way.

IAWTS that it really makes me sick that people are making hateful phone calls to the surviving family members of Ana Fernandez, a woman who was killed in the DC train crash. Just because she is Hispanic, they automatically assume that she is an illegal immigrant and were happy she died.

What the morons don't realize is that she was perfectly legal, twice widowed and was raising six children by herself, working two jobs.

IJWTS that I can only pray the ignorance of these people will be met with swift and harsh lessons in humility.
