OOOHH I am sick of Tim Tebow! I am tired of everyone treating him like a god. He's just a person! And I bet he's a jerk too. Famous like that, with a statue of himself up at the University of Florida, with women throwing themselves at him and people worshipping him....yup definitely a jerk!

I swear, I think I'm the only young woman in Florida who ISN'T in love with Tim Tebow.

I like what he stands for. It appears he has much love for the Lord. I think he is a good role model but perhaps some people do take it a bit too far.

I don't get why people hate him so much.

I don't hate him, I just hate what he's become. I'm sure he's a good person and all, but he's been put on a pedestal like he's a god or something. That's what bothers me. He's just a human being, sinful and wicked but with a little bit of good in there too just like the rest of us. Yet people worship him. When you give any human a god-like status it poisons and ruins them.

And the virgin thing is cute, if true. But for some reason, I doubt it is. I mean, come on! The man's famous, a sports idol, makes MILLIONS probably, is very attractive (even I can't deny that), went to UF (the #1 ranked party school in the nation) where he was treated like a celebrity, AND he's this good-boy virgin too?? Riiiiight.

But maybe I'm just a cynic.

I wouldn't personally call him a jerk, but a lot of Christians are definitely eager to hero worship in a way they didn't with other openly Christian sporting persons.

Yeah...my issue is that he's not the only Christian in the NFL but he's on such a pedastal. Drives me nuts.

Then some idiot said that God favours Tebow for being such a strong Christian and that's why they won last night. Soooooo...Palamau isn't a strong enough Christian to win a game? Whatever.

Everyone around Tebow says he doesn't believe his own hype. He doesn't act like a god or anything like that. He doesn't sleep around nor does he do any other things you'd expect famous rich people to do. He's turned down millions and millions of dollars in endorsement deals because he doesn't take himself too seriously. He built a children's hospital in the Philippines and does Make-A-Wish type work and missionary stuff.

I like him not only because he plays for my favorite team, but he's a true role-model. I don't think it's right to dislike someone because the media makes him a big deal. He's not out there searching for the spotlight. It's not HIS fault if people worship him. But people blame and hate him for it? Especially other Christians? He glorifies God in the greatest way. I just don't get it. No hard feelings I guess.

Saucy I'd look at it like this, nobody can please everyone, even Jesus hasn't pleased everyone. A good example for this Tebow guy is look at Benny Hinn, some feel he is an amazing faith healer, others feel he is a con artist fake. It happens especially with celeb figures in faith from what I've seen.

Like I said before I don't know the guy or care one way or another, just trying to help put some perspective on it.

Okay, everyone is entitled to their own opinion of this guy. It doesn't change who he is because of our opinons - just because someone else doesnt or does like him, shouldn't really matter in the scheme of things. It just is what it is.

I hate all the hype around him and the symbolic image that he's become: this sports god/Christian idol. It makes me sick! We should be worshipping Jesus, not Tim Tebow!
