I can't roll my r's. This is a great hindrance when it comes to learning certain languages. Especially when native speakers are telling you to roll them, and you're there going "I CAN'T, THIS IS AS ROLLY AS THEY GET" *sadface*.

I'm happy sounding weird. So long as people understand my basic needs. Coffee, pomegranates and spinach. Om nom nom. My basic needs are not limited to such things, I just plan on having such things for breakfast.

And this makes a full day of doing nothing but avoiding paperwork. Boomtastic.

it is learnable if you're stubborn enough. I couldn't roll my r's at all when i first started learning Spanish. So I annoyed the heck out of everyone around me while i practised until I finally figured it out

Someone please quickly tell me what the ratio of rice to water should be, my mum is not answering her phone.

In a rice cooker:

White Rice- 1 rice 1 water

Brown Rice 1 rice 2 water

Various rices require different directions, and often those instructions are printed on the back of the bag/pouch they're purchased with; best to check there first.

I was thinking the same thing. I can remember it being done that way years ago.

That's correct - and that did come to mind when I posted. However - I do, for the most part - stay away from heated oils. They aren't good for you. Yeah, I know, neither is beer. But two unhealthy habits don't add up to one healthy habit, if you get my drift. Anyway - I add my oils to food after it's cooked. I even brown my onions with water instead of oil.

I don't like heated oils because I ALWAYS get spattered. I made salmon tempura as part of dinner yesterday (since it's after midnight...) and I got spattered putting some in. My poor wrist!

I don't use oil. I dry fry popcorn.
