  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yum. :thumbsup: I've never had a spinach dal, sounds interesting.

If I may, try this the next time you're feeling Eastern-y:

Get a wok (or a pan, I guess) brown some bite sized pieces of chicken (make sure to cut away the fat first) simmer the chicken in some coconut milk, and stir in a few tablespoons of curry paste until blended. Let it simmer until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and then throw it over some jasmine rice, sauce in all. (though basmati works as well).

It's a sort of Thai-Indian twist, and happens to be my favorite ever. :wave:

i should be able to find the ingredients. i live in a small town, but 20 min. away from me is a town that has a lot of ingredients like that. if not, i may have to see if my mom can send me some of the ingredients from pa. the last time i visited her, it was cool. got to see a bunch of cool ingredients for different types of food to try.

yea we can do indian/eastern. send them to via pm. i'll save them all to my file that i put the first one in and create my indian/eastern cook book. :D

I live in the middle of nowhere in northern PA, Im_A. The once monthly trips an hour into NY suffice my ethnic eating habits, so long as I make a list and plan a little :p

And okay, gotcha. Like I said, I'll brainstorm and get back to ya. Get ready for the best food east of the Tigris. :) :thumbsup:

Edited to comment on nuts: Okay. That changes the dynamics, but only slightly. One dish I had in mind uses peanuts as a finishing garnish, but you can take them or leave them. I'll double check some things to make sure, but I think we're good. :wave:

peanuts are good.

i can't eat nuts like, walnuts, pecans, almonds, macademian (sp?), cashews etc.
