  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

IAJWTS- It was 113F today. I thought I was going to pass out several times.
I have a feeling it was hotter cause I'm in the valley.
It was like 104 here. This is rediculous. Lots of water Ethie!

Ethie, I saw this on wunderground.

The heat today in California broke tons of all time records. Including the LA temp. I guess here, the hottest it got was 110.

... It was a scorching September day across much of southwestern
California...

The combination of unseasonably strong high pressure aloft and weak
offshore low level flow made for an extremely hot day across much
of southwestern California today. The highest temperatures...
generally between 110 and 113 degrees... were found across interior
sections of the coastal plain and in the coastal valleys... where
compressional heating of the air as it descended into lower
elevations of the atmosphere added a few degrees to the
temperatures. The temperature regime today was fairly typical
of weak offshore flow patterns... where the highest temperatures often
occur in the lower valleys and across interior sections of the
coastal plain where the sea breezes are delayed. However... the
intensity of the heat today was rather extreme... resulting in many
records for the date... as well as some monthly and some all-time
records.

Here is a list of high temperatures today at official record sites
in southwestern California... the previous records for the date...
and all time records at that location. Temperatures denoted with an
asterisk broke or tied records for the date... and those with two
asterisks broke or tied all-time records.

IJWTS: I had the hugest scare last night while slapping Fedora 12 on one of my laptops that already has Windows 7. Stupid anaconda (the Fedora installer) spit out a bug while I was custom creating the partitions. It even had the nerve to ask me to save the bug report (as if I had a hard drive to save it to).
After that my hard drive wouldn't work at all for a good 20 minutes (wouldn't boot). I then tried the good old fashioned remove the drive and put it back in and then I was able to boot the installation disk again and complete the install. My Windows 7 is now living happily with my Fedora 12 (the Windows doesn't know it yet though). I've now earned myself a date with "Get 3g to work on F12" tonight and I must say I'm looking forward to it.

Kind regards

I read that Keri. It was horrible. Thank goodness the kids were inside today. My little ones like to follow me when I get out of the classroom, and today, I told them they couldn't, cause it was just horrible to go outside. I'm drinking as much water as I can. :(
Stay safe. Tomorrow is going to be bad too. I was thinking about you today!

It was a wonderful dream about someone I'd "met" here on this website. I haven't talked to him in a very long time, but I do miss him. Even though we were together in the dream, I remember the feeling I had more than anything else (like specifics so no dirty details :sorry: ... honestly, no dirty details, it was all good :))... and it was a wonderful feeling. Like, genuine love. Like, to have that feeling replicated in my life would be a sign that this was the one.

In other news, I'm loving the passed-out shots with the beer bottles rofl! :sput:

Thank you. You are well. Tomorrow we have Open House for work. I don't know how we are going to do it. We have made a plan and hope that it goes well. I'm a little worried, especially, because we have such dedicated parents, I know they will come (I'm really excited about that), but the heat.

I'm going to pray tomorrow goes smoothy.

IJWTS that I had another 5 hour, long and intensive, interview for the same thing today.

So far, that makes a total of 12 hours, not including lunch breaks.

Joy for having yet a final one on the 4th next month. *lol*

Employers are so weird now days. :)

What ever happened with trust and believing a person's fake resume?

Still praying for you about that position. That is an insane interview process, but at least it's almost over.

Oh and IJTWS, I woke up this morning with "Foolish Heart" playing in my head. And here it is, so that you too can have it playing in your head. :D
