  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

IJWTS there is a person on here who looks like my ex-husband when he was MUCH younger and it freaks me out every time I see their pic.

IAJWTS I'm sooooo ready for the weekend, although it's going to be busy. Dropping the mancubs off Friday night, yard sale on Saturday and dinner with my parents and sister/BIL, church and in-laws in town on Sunday, picking the mancubs back up Sunday evening....just in time to get home for the Superbowl. I'm exhausted just thinking about it all after the week I've had. :swoon:

IJWTS I helped save a life today! A man was brought in with a cardiac arrest and they needed someone to do chest compressions... and the other students looked terrified, so I did it :o I was scared too, but kept praying. After several minutes the man's heart started beating! The beat isn't a great one, so I don't know if he'll be alive tomorrow. But I was so excited, and so thankful.

IJWTA - Why are there so many grad schools and programs and why did I chose a major which made it inevitable I would have to choose one?! This is worse than deciding on a place for undergrad...and more difficult
Sounds exciting! What are you choosing between?

Too many! I mean, I guess it just depends on where I get in and which place works out...but there's SO many and I don't know where to actually apply.

Plus, maybe I'm just a dip, but I can't figure out what the requirements are for half the schools I'm looking into - from their online things anyway...lots of phone calls, then waiting for them to mail information. ^_^

And I can't decide between pastoral counseling programs, clinical counseling programs, or school counseling programs....or a social work masters program -which would require more choosing too

Or a few others ^_^ There's just so many routes I wouldn't mind taking ^_^

I ramble too much :sorry:

I'm not a prophet or trying to give you any kind of prophetic word, but I can see God is going to really use and bless you in your life.

I'm praying that you choose the one that's best for you :) And enjoy the choosing! I love it when the future is wide open and exciting.

Thank you... I really hope that is the case.

An MSW would give you more opportunities than the others. You could do any kind of counseling with an MSW including pastoral or school. The other ones are more limiting in terms of what you can do and which jobs you are qualified for.

IJWTS that's awesome!

I have only been faced with the request to assist with CPR once in my life and was too panicked to help - but later was told that she was dead when I found her from a massive stroke, so the CPR would not have done any good.

A conversation I had earlier today.

Telemarketer: Hello, I'd like to talk to you about your long distance service...

Me: This is a government phone.

TM: Who makes the decisions about your long distance service?

Me: Barack Obama.

TM: How do you spell that?
