IJWTS I'm disgusted that Walmart and H&M in NYC were throwing out clothes and cutting holes in them so no one could wear them instead of donating them to charity.
IJWTS here is the story![]()
IJWTS yeah someone posted a comment on another article about the exact same thing. Sadly a lot of restaurants and businesses in general worry about the "devaluing" of their brand with needy people eating their high priced foods and wearing name brand clothing.hey thanks for the link DB. That's sad but not surprising to me. I jumped through all the hoops trying to get my old store to donate food to the needy since they were throwing out food a full day before we had to, and we were throwing out hundreds of dollars worth a day, but they just won't do it, even if it's easy and even if they don't have to do any of the work themselves. It's basically company policy for them to ignore any kind of good they can do in the community outside of providing jobs.

THAT MAKES ME SO ANGRY
IJWTS yeah I was going to post that link.. it's where I originally read the story but then I didn't want anybody thinking I read Shine so yeah lol. Anyway, I hope that makes headline news everywhere and forces Walmart to donate. They can afford to.Here's yahoo's take on it: H&M and Wal-Mart destroy and trash unsold goods - Fashion + Beauty on Shine
Seems like the other company (h&m, whatever that is?) admitted their fault and stepped up in saying they'll fix it. Walmart on the other hand just acted clueless and tried to save image by saying it was a random incident that they don't know about and are going to investigate. I don't know about how they treat their clothing, but I do know walmart goes out of their way to avoid donating or giving away anything, even if it means trashing things instead. It drives me up a wall too Steph.
