  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is a very powerful and moving poem that a friend of mine from my church wrote, I asked him if I could share it with you guy's here and he has kindly said yes.

If I had welded the whip,
Would you have died for me?

If had I spat upon your face,
Would you have died for me?

If I had nailed your feet and hands,
Would you have died for me?

If I laughed while you hung there,
Would you have died for me?

Many times I whipped you with words,
Still you died for me.

Many times I spat your name as an oath,
Still you died for me.

Many times I nailed your words shut,
Still you died for me.

Many times I laughed at your followers,
Yet still you died for me.

The whip ripped the flesh from your back,
You prayed for me.

The spittle ran down your face,
You loved me.

The nails tore your muscles apart,
You forgave me.

The laughter broke your heart,
And YOU went to the cross for me.

Truly you know the heart of Jesus. For Jesus has only love and compassion for all of mankind.

Let it be known that it is we who are the fools who turn away from Jesus, as Jesus never turns away from us.

Embrace His love and compassion with the full weight of the pure and perfect Truth. For it is not in Jesus to ever hate us. While He may despise our foolishness, He has faith in us that we will repent.

Repent then, and give you heart, mind, body and soul to Jesus for He is more worthy of our life than we are.

What a wonderful poem.

I am printing this one for the wall, as this is His heart.

Jesus went to the cross for us to reflect back at us, the darkness within our hearts.

His spirit is eternally free to be among us now, so invite Him into your life, and He will change you. He will come so quickly apon you, that the unclean spirits will not be able to come near or between you and Him.

I have seen Jesus, and He broke the chains of doubt, that my heart was enslaved in.

Jesus is compassionate toward us, knowing that it is the world which enslaves our hearts with foolish desires.
