You see, that little away message on my messaging programs about not disturbing me while I watch football is meant to save you the time and energy of typing a message that I won't reply to until halftime or a commercial and getting mad at me for not replying in a timely fashion. Nothing you have to say is so important that it can't wait or else you'd be calling my cell phone frantically.

I'm well aware that it's only preseason; but it's still football and I will have my solace in it. I don't interrupt you in the middle of your craptacular baseball games- give me respite for 2 friggin hours, please! I'll get back to you as soon as I'm through checking my fantasy stats.

In this household it's the car racing. You never know when Brad Jones is going to stack it or Greg Murphy trash it. My father fills the entire house with the sound of the revving engines. That's when conversations are "taken in the kitchen".

Baseball is the only sport I know of where you can fall asleep during the top of the 2nd inning and wake up in the bottom of the 7th 2 hours later and have absolutely NOTHING have happened. Booo-rriiiiing.

Hehe I'm the same way with football. I don't even like people present in the room to talk to me. I like to watch football in peace (and if Denver is playing even more so!). I consider football a fascinating art and I don't get why when men watch football they make a lot of noise and go nuts. Sure, I might yell if it's the super bowl or something, but I don't get the need to make so much noise that you might miss a really excellent play. I am after all, completely joking here, and would like to take this time to stress that I do in fact enjoy OOtF's posts, and I've even PMed her on occasion to say so.

You're right though, it takes a certain person to enjoy baseball, it does get slow. Hence, if I took a girl to a game, and she not only stayed awake but payed attention, I'd probably propose on the spot.

Me on the other hand, I've been known to watch nine straight hours of baseball on a Sunday afternoon. Me, a pizza, a cold one. dang, now there's drool all over the foot I stuck in my mouth...

You're right though, it takes a certain person to enjoy baseball, it does get slow. Hence, if I took a girl to a game, and she not only stayed awake but payed attention, I'd probably propose on the spot.

I've never had a problem staying awake or paying attention when I've been physically present for a game. It's just those awful TV games that are so bloody boring that I can use them as a cure for insomnia...

I don't watch sports on tv. I don't agree with them getting payed millions of dollars for not really doing anything. The only sports I watch are the ones where I know people. so I'll watch school games, but other than that. Please no. OH, and I'll watch soccer. But it's usually because I'm watching how they play so I can play better myself.

Okay, so interrupting football during preseason is forgiveable to some degree. I may even be persuaded to look the other way for interruptions that happen during regular season as long as nothing special is going on (but it's best not left to chance).

But the infraction most likely to get you killed by me (aside from rare occurrences of PMS) would be calling this insomniac at 2:30 in the morning, 5 minutes after I've fallen asleep because you're bored and want to talk.

Start running kid. It's open season...

i agree with you.. baseball is soooooo boring.. next to golf it it the most boring sport ever... no one will ever disturb me while i am watching FOOTBALL, NASCAR, BASKETBALL or HOCKEY..

anyone who does that should be locked up and have the key thrown away
