  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'd ask Him what he sees himself doing in five years. . .

What are you favorite hobbies? interests?

You know general questions.

I'd ask to see His resume and would definitely check references. You can't be too careful.
too cute!

A follow-up question:

Was that you who said women have to be silent in church, or was Paul holding onto his Pharisee training there... or was it something else that doesn't apply today... and will it apply again?

Also, which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Yes, I think I would ask questions similar to what AngelusSax proposed, but a bit more sweeping. I'd ask, is there anything at all more important than love? If he said yes, I'd ask what. If he said no (which I suspect he would) I would ask how best to balance love with the many other demands that seem to be placed on me in Scriptures. If he said, "like what" (which would only be rhetorical on his part, of course) I would say, obedience to appointed authority when that authority seems to be demanding that I focus on issues instead of people, or (if he asked me to cite another) I'd ask about doing what I vaguely suspect (but have no real way of knowing) might be his will for me when that would mean abandoning or putting in doubt the current and/or future security of those I love and am responsible for.

Good thread. It got me thinking!

This is interesting!
I would ask general quetions like why did God make us, instead of just having Himself, and like why do all this when He knew what was going to happen (that humanity would kind of "backfire" on Him). Id also like to ask lots of personal questions about my life (why go thro what I've had to, ect.) and like what were the times when things could have gone really bad but for God's intervention they did not. Also like well....just why? ;)

I would ask Him why He let someone think up Algebra.

But seriously, I would ask Him why He loved man, and where He wanted me to go that I might do His will for my life. I would ask Him about a lot of things in His Word that I just don't get.
My Daughter says the same thing^_^
