  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If the matrix evolves you too fast...

If the matrix evolves you too fast, for you to learn how to manage, does the matrix reject you or do you get control of the matrix?

Evolution is part of the matrix's program so it makes sense that it could speed up, but it could speed up so much that you can't keep up, right? But then does the matrix think you are not evolving, or does the matrix think you are evolving it?

Answers to this question are most welcome.

I imagine you would be shunted to a lower complexity level of the "Matrix"

Like the growth of a tree: Those that cannot suspend themselves on the finer, faster moving twigs and leaves will fall to lower, thicker, less mobile branches.......perhaps even all the way to the ground!

Perhaps those who are to slow to keep up will be tolerated as pets.

Oh, Hi gott, I see you are posting about evolution. Before we continue, a few reminders about what evolution is and isn't. These should all look familiar, because you've been told them before. Many, many times.

1. Evolution is the change in allele frequency in a population over time.
2. We don't choose to, or not to, evolve
3. Populations evolve, individuals don't.
4. Evolution is a description of real world events, not a theory of morality. It does not proscribe any action on our part.
5. There is no such thing as "completely evolved." Evolution is a process, not an end point.
6. All modern day creatures have been evolving for the same amount of time and are thus equally evolved.
7. Non living things don't evolve
8. "Belief" is not a genetic trait. Belief does not evolve in the biological sense.
9. We do not expect all populations to solve all problems in the exact same way. (ex. The fact that birds evolved wings does not mean we expect all creatures to evolve wings)
10. Adding the "evolved" or "evolutionarily" doesn't make what ever you are saying relevant to evolution. (ex. "what's the best pizza topping, evolutionarily speaking" makes no sense because pizza toppings are unrelated to evolution.)

Now that we've got that out of the way, let me read your post. I have not read your post prior to this point, but at this point, we are all used to the same strawmen you always go back to. Things that are wrong will be marked in red:

Also, if you are referencing a scifi movie from 1999 in this stuff, go with starwars. Try, "Why the hell did anyone think a 15 minute pod racing scene and Jar Jar Binks were good ideas... Um, evolution" Sure, it would still violate #10, but would have better acting.

Are you one of the healthcare workers responsible for him, or do you have a way of letting them know, though?

Gott was missing from this site for a while. He reappeared a few months ago and in one of his posts he claimed his medications were working better now.

Sadly that did not seem to be the fact.

He is a nice kid (?) but has some ..... well let's just say that he has some problems.

Problems seem to be cyclic. He disappears, reappears about 3-4 weeks later, starts out with arguably tamer posts that become increasingly... difficult to understand... over a number of days, then disappears again. I'm no expert, my stint in psych nursing was a long time ago, and brief, but if I was asked to bet, I'd say it looks like someone who is stopping their medication when they feel OK, having a return of symptoms, then being forcibly medicated, and then starting over. If that is the case, purely out of concern for Gott's wellbeing, I wonder if it's possible to get in touch with someone to head off any downward spiral before it progresses too far?

Hope you're doing OK Gottservant. People are concerned for you.
