Seems weird that they say they want to make contact when they know that contact can bring down on Earth an enemy that mankind could not deal with. Seems pretty stupid.
Majority opinion seems to be that advanced life is so rare that there's no one in range to even hear signals.

Also, even if there are other races in range, interstellar war is probably completely impractical. It seems as logical as taking a six week trek on foot to steal two backpacks of fire wood then trekking six weeks home instead of just gathering wood locally.

They might get mad enough to do so if they start viewing us as the interstellar equivalent of telemarketers.

They should keep sending signals out. One day I'll figure out how to reply and be able to give instructions.

It's because of the enemy of Christ, that mankind can not deal with. (already)

I don't understand the connection?

Do you mean that malevolent aliens are simply a stand in for the Devil?

Such Alien story like Sitchin's annunaki is created by mankind to deceive people that God doesnt exist.
Isn't Sitchin's point that the gods of mankind are actually real, but that they are really those aliens? :)

I just checked my personal library and counted forty eight books on extra-terrestrial life, all of which I have read and studied. I did not find any specific consensus emerging from these and certainly not the one you are suggesting. Do you have a citation or two to back up your assertion?

You hold this view because you are single. Many husbands talk to their wives.

Interesting that you use the word: "contact". In the Jody Foster movie by that name - establishing "contact" requires an understanding of how to use worm holes. Because warp speed has been falsified and now worm holes are the only theory we have for fast travel through the universe.

I had a vision once that there were angels that regulated who could use the worm holes. So that resolve the contact issue.

extra-terrestrial life
Some of the ancient art is believed by some people to show drawing of extra terrestrial life. Of course there are lots of other theories that attempt to explain their meaning.

I appologise, I posted that with far more certainty then it deserved.

The most consistent explanation of there being no signals nearby and no evidence of very large scale civilisations in the distance is that there aren't any neighbours, and (for whatever reason) advanced life is rare.

There is no need to apologise. Some of the material I have read argues for an abundance of extraterrestial intelligence. Some argues against it. The better writings (in my opinion) are the ones that acknowledge we lack sufficient data to form a provisional conclusion with any degree of confidence.

Regardless, the prudent course of action would be to listen, but not to talk. It's questionable advice for participation on a forum, but sensible when we confront the possibility of agressive aliens.

You raise plausible objections to such dangers, but consider this scenario. We are already planning (in concept stage) nano-probes to be sent out to nearby star systems in the hundreds to transmit back data. Imagine a paranoid alien race that adopts such an idea and determines the presence and character of Earth life. They then adapt the idea and send probes loaded with lethal micro-organisms: a pre-emptive strike. Best not to alert them to the presence of the Earth as a priority target.

It does come across as a sort of daredevil activity. Something like: "Here we are! Now what do you intend to do about it?" The film "Species" deals with one possible response that you mentioned.

From the Christian religious standpoint we are already invaded by aliens called demons and their leader the Devil. I know.

Yes, I read the book and watched the film. In that scenario luckily the aliens were benevolent. But it could have gone the opposite way as in "Independence Day" It could also go badly for the aliens since humans can be very nasty sometimes. So the danger goes both ways and the wisdom seems to indicate listen but don't shout.

He means that all UFOS and other manifestations of aliens are really disobedient angels trying to mislead mankind. He also means that according to the Bible Earth has already been invaded in the past and is still occupied by these alien like creatures whose chief purpose in life is to ruin us.

I suppose you could technically say that God is also an alien, since He did not originate on Earth, and is thus extraterrestrial...

Most Christians would take umbrage with that and even classify it as blasphemy. But it is true. Especially when one considers the infinitely enormous gap between how he is described and our own meager capabilities. Furthermore his dwelling place isn't Earth-it is heaven. The problem is that as soon as we mention aliens they imagine these palid skinned, bulbous-headed little humanoids with huge slanted oval eyes and a slit for a mouth and panic.
