I think the point should also be stressed that the extreme anti-Catholic hatred we see in the works of Alexander Hislop or more recently Jack Chick is not something most Protestant Christians would be comfortable with; I on a personal level find it difficult to relate to Hislop or Chick as co-religionists; their hatred for Roman Catholicism is so intense it seems contrary to basic principles of Christianity.

Simon Magus was the Pator or Simon Pator. He became the first Pope not the Apostle Peter. 2 Timothy 4:11. I believe Peter was never in Rome.
