Why would God put a desire to murder in someone's heart if murder is a sin? It just doesn't make sense that a just God could do such a horrible thing. Does it?

Okay, what Autumnleaf seems to be doing is sending up the thread, 'If homosexuality is a sin, then why did God create homosexuals'.
The questions are very different. Murder causes harm to others. Homosexual sex (between consenting adults) does not. I can understand why society wants to prevent and discourage murder, but what is wrong with homosexual sex, for those who are attracted to their own sex?

Because it makes justifying bigotry easier if one pretends that a minority is somehow in the same category as a murder or a substance abuse or a child molesterOkay, what Autumnleaf seems to be doing is sending up the thread, 'If homosexuality is a sin, then why did God create homosexuals'.

It's a compassion orientation.

The point I think trying to be made here is that the argument that God created people with some desire is not sufficient to say it is ok. But here, let me fix it with a new thread.
So you believe something is wrong only if it causes harm to others?Okay, what Autumnleaf seems to be doing is sending up the thread, 'If homosexuality is a sin, then why did God create homosexuals'.

How about idolatry? God condemns idolatry but it causes no harm to other people.
You won't accept my answer, because it's a Biblical answer. Everything I believe is driven by God and the Bible. If you are a committed athiest, we'll just butt heads all day long.I'm guessing that, as an atheist, Andreusz doesn't care much about what God thinks.
Why is idolatry wrong, if it doesn't harm anyone?
It's wrong because God said it's wrong.
Cute how you slipped the "she" in there. Why did you do that?Well, yes, but I assume God doesn't say things are wrong on a whim. Why does she say it's wrong?
I'm quite happy to discuss it with you, because we can try to work out whether your view is internally consistent without my beliefs getting in the way. Well, I can, anyway.![]()

Your mental image? Hmm....I would think someone's image of God should be shaped more by what it says in the Bible. Of course, the Bible's only physical description of God is blinding light, and everywhere the Bible uses a pronoun to depict God, it's the masculine. Using "she" is unscriptural. My mental image of her is more feminine than not. Is it a problem?
Would you care to answer my question, now that I have answered yours?![]()
