If a man assaults a woman an terminates the pregnancy that is murder. If a woman has an abortion she is exercising the choice she has over her body. Nothing inconsistent there.

Totally inconsistent. If the baby was merely her body, nobody could ever be charged with two murders by killing a pregnant woman.

Laws say a lot of things I don't agree with. Regardless of what politicians say, the Father who created us said I knew you in the womb. That says volumes as to the time and place we were a creation to the Creator in my book. This argument that I should have to take care of a child not of my seed has no bearing on my view of when life begins. As to the legality of when life begins O vote pro life. Sometimes that is all we can do. Walk the walk and talk the talk of Jesus.

Then by your logic, only one body is destroyed. The law isn't that consistent. It counts two bodies in the case of murder and one in the case of abortion. I'm not going to continue in this as it would be pretty unfruitful to discuss something with a person who thinks one plus one makes one.

The legal implications for state laws that consider a fetus to be a person are interesting. Until they're born, they're stateless persons. Under current US policies they should be deported immediately.
Actually they're going through a legitimate process of citizenship: being born in this country.

It is legal to kill someone who breaks into your home and tries to kill you. Would you call this murder? Or self defense? Would you think it right if, after explaining your attempt to save yourself and your family, other said..."You still committed murder.....just legal murder." Or would you like for them to call it self defense, like the law calls it? As, like you say, "Reality is not defined by laws"

A live is lost in both cases.
Life is lost in car accidents too. We define the cause of death with different terms so that people know what caused the death. There is nothing wrong with calling abortion, abortion, and shooting and killing an adult, murder.....and running someone over with a car, vehicular manslaughter.

Abortion is abortion, not murder. One who tries to change the name of it....does not care about the unborn, because they wish to group them in with other forms of death....instead of letting them be unique and set apart from others....like those who die as apart of a gang war.

The termination of the unborn deserves to have a name and category to themselves.....no matter how much we may think that they need not be differentiated from those executed for crimes committed.
