If something exists, it is by definition natural.

The article from Big Think discusses the possibility that ghosts may be real, but not supernatural. The author, Dean Radin, is a parapsychologist who has spent his career studying the paranormal. He believes that there is evidence that ghosts may exist, but that they are not supernatural beings.
Radin's evidence for ghosts comes from a variety of sources, including:
  • Eyewitness accounts: People have reported seeing ghosts for centuries. While some of these reports may be hoaxes, others are difficult to explain.
  • Photographic evidence: Some people have taken photographs that appear to show ghosts. While these photographs can be faked, some of them are difficult to explain.
  • Instrumental evidence: Some people have used electronic devices to detect ghosts. These devices have recorded strange readings that some people believe are evidence of ghosts.
Radin believes that the evidence for ghosts is strong enough to suggest that they may exist. However, he also believes that ghosts are not supernatural beings. He believes that they may be a form of energy that we do not yet understand.
Radin's views on ghosts are controversial, but they are also thought-provoking. The article he wrote for Big Think is a valuable resource for anyone who is interested in exploring the possibility that ghosts may be real.
Additional thoughts on the possibility of ghosts:
  • It is important to note that there is no scientific consensus on the existence of ghosts. Some scientists believe that the evidence for ghosts is not strong enough to support their existence. Others believe that the evidence is strong enough to warrant further investigation.
  • It is also important to note that the definition of a "ghost" is not universally agreed upon. Some people believe that ghosts are the spirits of dead people. Others believe that ghosts are a form of energy or consciousness that is not bound by the laws of physics.
  • Ultimately, the question of whether or not ghosts exist is a matter of personal belief. There is no scientific evidence that can definitively prove or disprove the existence of ghosts.

Oh! I own several books by Dean Radin like Real Magic, Entangled Minds, and the Conscience Universe. His work is incredibly interesting and although he dances around it academically, he acknowledges that there has to be a Divine Conscience, a.k.a God. If you haven't read his books, I do recommend it!

I agree with you. The fact that God caused all things whatsoever comes to pass, means that either all things are supernatural, or natural. After all, even existence itself is supernatural.

To me, the word, "supernatural", is entirely for human ability to reason, just as is the word, "miracle". All anybody really means by it is, "unusual", to humans.

Ghosts play a significant role in Quantum Field Theories.
There even are good ghosts and bad ghosts. :)
This terminology amused me: "A field with a negative ghost number (the number of ghosts excitations in the field) is called an anti-ghost."

There needs to be a basis for distinguishing between what is natural or super natural without making an assumption about whether or not it exists. If everything that is considered to be supernatural is considered to be natural on the basis of if it exists, then that is essentially assuming that the supernatural is that which does not exist or is assuming that all that exists is natural.

I remember at my moms house we were staying and I got up to go to the bath room and as I came back this black see through spirit came in through the wall to my right walked right in front of me looked at me and when off through the wall on my left. Now what was odd was I knew what it was thinking. When it looked at me it thought "your nothing". Now me a man of faith power and authority.. I left the light on all night for a week haha.

To those that do not believe the word of God ...well it will seem foolish. Get around someone strong in the faith and then some "ghost" and speak the name of Jesus.. it is odd how that "ghost" will get very scared and flee. But many are moved only by what they can see, hear and feel thus they judge all based on that which in turn can be so easily deceived. Like I said there is only one name every knee shall bow. Standing in the back of Church when I was in my 20's woman up front crying kinda jumping and what not. I asked my friend with me "who is she?" He said "see all the people here? About 1/2 came with her she was blind".

Key word was.. haha... yeah no other name gave her new eyes. Just a simple IN JESUS name. So don't take my word for anything. Ask Yeshua/Jesus.. GOD if you are really who you say you are prove it. Try it.. know countless Muslims have tried and their Allah? Never ever talked back. Those in hospital or in prisons that asked from their heart if Jesus was real.. He showed up..

I’m Buddhist… Theravada
Thanks for that link.
I see some possible parallels with Yoga cosmology but, of course, have no experience with either personally that I remember.

Do you mean you'd like there to be a basis, i.e. you'd think the supernatural does or should exist, or maybe you have some coherent criterion in mind, i.e. something that can distinguish supernatural from natural while assuming both are real?

For example, is the supernatural physical, i.e. capable of physical influence on the natural?
