From Evolution strawmen - CreationWiki, the encyclopedia of creation nonsense
- General theory of evolution [Darwinism]: the speculation that all life originated through purely natural processes without any act of creation (abiogenesis). It is theorized that all life on Earth originated from a single ancestral cell (common ancestry). All the biological complexity, adaptivity, and artistry on the planet is solely the result of random changes and natural selection over billions of years.
This is literally the single worst straw man for evolution I have ever seen. This 'general theory of evolution' doesn't even exist. It's a nice Kent Hovind creation (yes, the Kent Hovind with a unaccredited diploma-mill 'PhD' in 'christian education')
So posting this just makes you look like more of a fool. Heck, it's not even a true wiki as you have to apply to edit it. Of course if you make any edits that aren't kosher with their status quo they'll kick you out like a stray cat.
The distinction between these two uses of the word "Evolution" is important, because creationism acknowledges that biological evolution is a true and scientific reality, but argues that the theory of evolution is a speculative farce, overwhelmingly discredited by the scientific evidence.
Aren't encyclopedias just supposed to 'state the facts'? Oh wait, it's run by creationists who feel they have to use ad theorum, ad lapidem statements to qualify their 'arguments' (what? there was no argument? just an absurd and blind statement?)
Absolutely nothing in that article has any basis in reality, and if you think it does, I seriously feel sorry for you.
Now, here's a real, reliable and accurate representation of evolution. It's about 30 times longer, infinite times more accurate, and includes almost 300 references from reputable, respected sources. In it you'll find an encyclopedic (that is what they're for, right?) summary of evolution, as well as links to similar articles going into much greater details about the sub-topics in the article.
