If B.O. wasn't born in the USA, should an exception be made just for him to be prez?

If aliens are secretly in control of President Bush, should he be impeached? That's about as ridiculous as saying Obama wasn't born in this country. I've personally seen a copy of both his birth certificate stating that he was born in Hawaii, and the announcement of his birth the next day in the local Hawaii newspaper. These things are all over the Internet. Every reputable (note the word reputable :) ) news source agrees that our President-elect is, and was born, an American. His grandfather (His mother's father) fought for the United States in World War 2.

There's no reason for this smear campaign against our President-elect. How dare people question his standing as an American. It's unpatriotic and just plain old not right.

If B.O.s proof of being born in the U.S.A. were so easy to prove, why can't he just show us his birth certificate?

HE DID. It was posted on his campaign website prior to the election. I embedded it in posts and forwarded it to family and friends. I'm not sure if it was the original piece of paper, but it was a valid and legal certificate of birth signed by the right state officials that would legally count as a birth certificate for anything one is needed for.

And why is the Supreme Court refusing to even look into it?
Because the Supreme Court doesn't have time to take on ridiculous cases with no legal merit?

oh good grief...he could have been born on the MOON and still would be considered a BORN and BRED AMERICAN...

His mother IS an AMERICAN...

get over it already.
I ask again. Why doesn't B.O. just show us his birth certificate to put the issue to rest?

They are just stating a scenario, it is not like they called Obama a fascist. Chill out.

If we find out that B.O. is not a U.S. born citizen, should an exception be made just for him to be prez?
.
If an exception were to be made, it would have to be by the correct legal process: An amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

The Hawaii Board of Records has certified that the papers showing Barack Obama was born there are, indeed, accurate.

The greater question was whether a President had to be born in the United States AND a child of two American citizens. There was some question as to whether Barack Obama could be considered a "dual" citizen of Kenya and the U.S.

Since he is unquestionably born in the United States AND a U.S. citizen, if it were determined that he would have to renounce his Kenyan citizenship to assume the Presidency I think that would be fair. It might be bad PR, but it would be fair.

If we were ever involved in a war with Kenya (a big stretch of the imagination) we probably should not have a President who has dual citizenship.

When I lived in NY (coming of age in the Vietnam era) I had a neighbor born in Italy married to a native-born American, and a friend born in Canada married to a native-born American. Both said they would never renounce their citizenship because if there were another unjust war like Vietnam with a draft they would want their sons to be able to claim Italian or Canadian citizenship.

In Obama's case, he barely knew his father and probably never gave a thought to his dual citizenship.

But the Supreme Court decision was right. He was born in the US, the son of an American citizen. The Constitution doesn't say both parents have to be citizens.

There should be a forum exclusively for conspiracy theories. Then, all those belonging to fringe groups, can be contained there, where they can come up with more ideas about Dick Cheney having the planes fly into the WTC on 9/11, Obama wasn't born in America, and Santa Clause really lives in at the North Pole.
