I have had a IEP ever since pre-school and its time for another one in a week. since I will still only be 17 in a week my mom/dad still has to sign. I realy dont like attedning IEP meetings but I know its for my best interest, ecpecialy since I am a HS senior. I will be in a SpecEd class 4 periods a day and out in the RegEd class 2 periods a day. Anyone else haveing to attend an IEP meeting soon? If you have older children (12-13 and up) do they attend?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When I was a speech pathologist in a public school we always had our 6th graders who were headed to middle school attend their end of the year IEP meetings.

My DH is a Spec. Ed. teacher so he has to schedule IEP meetings regularly. Do you have any questions you'd like me to ask him? Any concerns?

Well, we just had it last week and it wasnt as bad as I thout it would be, but thanks. We prety much just talked about my classes and the 2 classes I am takeing out in the regular class. I will have speech every winsday and thursday and will have about 10-11 modefactons/acomedatons. Thanks again, and tell your DH that I REALY respect what he is doing becuse I know how hard it is to be a kid in specal ed, and I know that a specal ed teacher has to work 10 times harder then a regular techer to keep kkids focused and just helping them every way they can,, Anyway, thankes again!
