My daughter was a Muay Thai fighter. That's a Thai kickboxing martial art and sport. She's even competed in an MMA competition at a local casino. She quit the sport a couple of years ago, just fell out of interest with it.

While she was practicing she bought two statues of Buddha and one giant picture of a Buddha in a shrine. I didn't think anything about it, I was sure it was all about the martial art. I mean, she didn't worship at them or anything. They were just pretty.

Yet they are still here. Yeah, they are not in a venerated place. They aren't prominent, but they aren't gone.

I was wondering, could they be attached to evil spirits (for we struggle not against...). I don't want to seem overly concerned and I don't want to turn her off by suggesting that she's got demons in her room, but what do you guys think, is this a tempest in a teacup? Is it nothing to worry about?

I'm worrying a little.

You might be interested in reading Derek Prince' book Blessing or Curse: You Can Choose. I'm not sure a Buddha statue definitely means that there is an evil spirit in her room, but you should at least be able to say to her that it's not something you feel comfortable having in your house.

I mean, you have the right to say that something can't be in your house, but I doubt she'll take you seriously if you say that her mementos are literally demon-possessed. I'd say it would definitely turn her off, since she chose to show appreciation for another culture and be knowledgeable about her hobby, and you're making that out to be an evil thing. Tempest in a teacup.

Well its bothering me lately that my mum has a statue of kwan yin in the living room, it it isnt actively worshiped but I think her having the idol means there is a stronghold there. She is resistant to the gospel.
