With the NFL Superbowl and NBA all star weekend just around the corner I was inclined to share the following. Not to judge but to edify. To make people think. The first video is a little quirky, a little over the top yet never the less contains truths.

To the fist post, there is a vast difference between worshipping an idol and hoping to win an award. Actors or athletes being acknowledged as the top of their profession for the year is no different than employee of the year awards for the rest of us. Nobody is making a religion out of the Oscars, Super Bowl, Dundees, or what have you. They’re excited over their eligibility in getting tangible evidence of their professional achievements.

To the second post… I hope you’re joking because if not… Yikes.

While it's true that we can make things we desire into idols we also need to be careful not to vilify the gifts The Lord has given us. Idolatry pertains to worship, not necessarily a great enjoyment. A replacement of God with something else.

Those who are godless however try to fill the void in their life that only God can fill with worldly vices.

Image of the beast is YOUR imagination. That is the only "Idol" God is concerned with, nothing else, end of story.

You worship your image by trying to give "life" to it. You give "life" to it by putting your thoughts in to action.

God's word is closer than you think. It's not "out there" like most people believe.
