  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey everyone!

i'm a PK & MK and i'm very involved in my church, specially the youth group.

i was wondering if you guys had any creative ideas for ice-breakers, or anything that would make the meetings more interesting.

please don't hesitate to shout out an idea!

Thanks

We play a game called nose drop - it's really popular - you have two chairs facing everyone and two people sit on them put their heads back and balance a penny on their nose they then have to get it to drop without moving their head just wiggling their nose - everyone always wants a go at this - plus you can put the best at it together and see who wins - it's a short game and pretty sillly so it breaks the ice!!

We make a huge circle with everyone in the youth group, and we have candy in the center of the circle...and our youth pastor yells out for instance "anyone wearing jeans" or "anyone who goes to _____ school" and we play that sometimes at the beginning!

have everyone sit in a circle and tell
1, their fav super hero
2, if they were a super what would be their powers and why
then have everyone trash-talk each other about beating each other at Halo then have a tournament

one thing we did at a christmas party was pack everyone into a room, leave em there for a couple minutes then we started getting rolls of toilet paper thrown at us from the balcony and we basically teepeed ourselves, everyone else around us and the entire youth hall:ebil:
