  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Because EU countries have a poor natality (except Ireland, and maybe France in EU). So govs expect that tax breaks will help people makes children. Otherwise we would need more immigration to increase the ratio workers/retired.
Another solution would be emigration. This solves this problem and that of overpopulation simultaneously. I say this as a citizen of one of the most overpopulated countries in the world.

I wouldn't mind moving to an emptier country.

I think we could be lenient there. So if you have a certain amount of kids, you don't need to have any more to maintain your marriage. So after your forth kid, your marriage is safe. I guarantee it.

Aw heck...I am NOT having 4 kids.. let's see.. what happens if you've got a bent and broken family tree... hubby married twice before me.. (and then married me twice.. go figure) His first wife and he had 2 kids, then she had another kid.. but she marry that kid's dad. Wife number 2 came into the marriage with a kid from her first husband, and then they had 1 kid, I came into the marriage with 1, we had 1, and we took custody of the 1 he had with wife #2... I think since hubby had 4 altogether I should "grandfathered" in since the other marriages were already dissolved.. what do you think? :p (We have 4 cats... does that count?)

Oh cats always count. I have three babies. The oldest is 12 and the youngest is 2. They are soooo cute.

 My oldest is 14, the youngest two are 3 the boy we don't know how old he is, he wandered in off the street 7 years ago and stayed. If I ever close on this house I plan to accept 2 more rescue kitties and a couple dogs. (Yes the real reason we are buying a house is because we need room for pets.. we're down to one kid at home.. but I'm still feeling the need for the 6 bedroom house)

I think cats count, too. I have three children, my husband and I have two. I have one from a previous life. :D (The one in my signature, the calico. She doesn't live with us but she's my baby.) They are 12 years, 5 years, and 6 months. The 5-year-old had a twin sister but she died April 30. :(

My heart is big enough for all the cats in the world, but my house isn't.

Cats count.

Dogs don't though. All you dog people, sell your dogs and buy cats instead.
They don't have to sell their dogs, so long as they get some cats. At least, I hope dogs and cats are allowed. In addition to rats, gerbils, fish, turtles, and parakeets (we have one of each, except rats).

Cats are better (my calico, Lucretia is 11, our new boy, Floyd, is just over a year), but I want a dog or two someday.

Well, you can have dogs, I suppose, I just can't imagine why you'd want to.
Cats, while awesome, do not deter intruders like a large dog can just by being a large dog.

Also, most cats do not play fetch. It would be far harder to fulfill my need to watch an animal retrieve a ball a few dozen times a day, by searching for a cat that will play fetch, rather than just buying a dog.

*big grin*

:D

For exercise. When I'm old I'll get a dog so that I will still get my daily walks. (I can't now because of work - don't want to leave the dog alone all day.)
