I've heard of the Humanist Manifesto, but that's compatible with most forms of theism (barring some kinds of documentary literalism).

Or that there might not be any global atheist movement against Christianity? Simplest solutions are often times the best ones.

Using your logic, WW2 is a misnomer.
Not even close. Just a reviewer, aka a person giving an opinion, says a book is a pleasant read, doesn't mean there is a global atheistic group.
