I wasn't in a restaurant.Did you remember to tip?
give how many innocent people hav been attacked, and questionable legalness of these raids, this isn't going to turn out good.Good to see ICE is still going strong. How to keep from being raided by ICE? Not employing or harboring illegal aliens is a pretty simple solution to that.
From what I've seen most of the theatrics are in the reactions to ICE doing their job.You missed out--probably arrested by unimaginative local LEOs who were primarily interested in stopping crime. Here we have a popular Italian restaurant in a decent neighborhood. ICE thinks there is an illegal alien working there. We don't know who and won't find out (or if he even existed) so we don't know if he could be considered dangerous. But anyway. here they come, 22 officers with swat gear and no warrant barge in and start handcuffing people and throwing flash-bangs to drive away spectators. They took away two people who couldn't document their citizenship on the spot. We don't know whether they are citizens or not or what will happen to them and won't find out. You have to admit it was a great piece of theater.
Are you asking if I tipped the cops? If so I don't really get the joke or whatever.Isn't it customary to tip for services rendered in the USA?
Been asking the same question for a very long time. Its odd that only now some people have become very concerned about it.They know a good deal of it, but the information is compartmentalized. Why do we need a universal system of dossiers? What's the purpose?
Ice raids and mistakes have existed for decades. There's a nearly 40 year old comedy movie about it called Born in East L.A. "When an L.A. born American citizen is mistaken for a Mexican illegal alien and deported to Mexico, he has to do everything he can to get across the border". In the movie the raid took place in a restaurant as I recall. There's absolutely nothing new about it.give how many innocent people hav been attacked, and questionable legalness of these raids, this isn't going to turn out good.
What makes you think there already isn't a universal database? Even a ordinary private investigator can find out everything about you via the internet. There's even commercial websites that will give the average citizen extensive information about someone for a fee. If someone gave me their full name and a couple of details like their birthdate and where they live, I bet for $50 fee I could legally get a boatload of personal information about them. They know a good deal of it, but the information is compartmentalized. If it's that easy, why does the government need the Palentir system. What makes you think there already isn't a universal database? Sounds like an upgrade to me. There's nothing new about tech upgrades. "Palantir Technologies Inc. is an American publicly-traded company that specializes in software platforms for big data analytics". I don't see why that's an issue. Should they use different company? Not ever upgrade? If it's that easy, why does the government need the Palentir system.
Not enough for a laugh I'm afraid.No, I guess you don't.
I don't necessarily want it, even though I find it amusing.Isn't that what you wanted?
I went ahead and gave it a haha like. Are we still friends? Not from you at least.
Well, that's too bad. ICE could have sent two guys to quietly arrest whoever it was they were looking for, but instead they put on a show for the benefit of people like you and the best you can do is find it "amusing?"I don't necessarily want it, even though I find it amusing.
Watch Born in East L.A. from 1987. There's absolutely nothing new about ICE restaurant raids. Edit: I see back then it was INS instead of ICE. And it took place in a factory, not a restaurant. You know how 40 year old memories can be.Well, that's too bad. ICE could have sent two guys to quietly arrest whoever it was they were looking for, but instead they put on a show for the benefit of people like you and the best you can do is find it "amusing?"![]()
Exactly, this has nothing to do with the rule of law, it is nothing but thuggery.Well, that's too bad.
