You know...I'll be playing Risk and in the middle of a game the computer will give me extra armies that I do not deserve. If I end up winning the game I feel like I did not really earn it (and trust me, it is extremely difficult beating those ruthless Artificial Intelligence opponents). I wonder if there isn't some similar glitch in every computer game that I play. The Monopoly makes the transactions so fast that I have to trust that it is doing the math right.
The graphics, sounds and all of that are nice, but I prefer sitting down at a table and playing a board game or card game. I have more control over the game that way.
Does anybody else feel this way?

Agreed.Grunt said:Funny thing, I just took a browse through Apple's site. The closest G5 that I can build to my comp cost over $1000 more ($3200 vs $2000 - 60% more expensive), which isn't even taking into account the fact that I built mine over 6 months ago, so a comperable system today is significantly cheaper - or you can get a better system for the same price.
For all of that, the G5 is using an inferior processor (Dualcore PowerPC 2.3Ghz vs Athlon64x2 4400) and inferior video card (GF7800GT vs GF7800GTX), and lacks the options and exandability of my comp. Not to mention it's running an OS now shown to be slower than WinXP.
Really, Macs have their good points, but you should give the fanboi-ism a rest.
That's why you wait to see what they release as the Intel-successor to the PowerMac line this summer.Grunt said:Funny thing, I just took a browse through Apple's site. Well, I certainly didn't expect Apple's very first Intel venture to be flawless...c'mon, these are the first Mactels! I didn't think they'd be perfect when they first came out, after a decade of running on IBM chips.Grunt said:Not to mention it's running an OS now shown to be slower than WinXP.
The Core Duos aren't spectacular, though. They're not bad, but they're not spectacular.AceHero said:That's why you wait to see what they release as the Intel-successor to the PowerMac line this summer.

I think it's going to be a while before those machines are fully optimised, and while it's nice having the newest thing on the market, though ultimately expensive, it's not possible with Apple, because when they make a change, they overhaul the whole product line!
Personally, I'm going to wait a bit before I upgrade my trusty iBook!

Never mind that windows has been dealing with compatibility from day 1Willtor said:Yeah, I was going to say. Comparing OS X and Win XP on an Intel architecture is meaningful but it's hardly conclusive. I'd kind of like to see how XP runs on IBM G5s (vs. OS X). We'll have to wait until Apple has better compilers and libraries for the new processors, and until it's not cross-compiling for compatibility, anymore (universal binaries).
