Everything has change
My life is not the same
I just wanted you to stay
but you had to go you went away
As I lay on my bed
Memories race in my head
Trying to remember things you said
I can not believe that you are dead

My heart torn apart
don't know where to start
The guilt is unbearable
many things unchangeable
As I try to heal
stop hiding what I feel
The door has been closed
I can't see you no more
I have to move on
help me be strong
when I feel alone
you jump into my zone

Everything has changed
and will never be the same
your promises broken
lost words you had spoken
want to see through
don't know what to do
stressed to the max
no time to relax

You gave up on life
and left your sweet wife
these nightmares in my head
wake me up crying in my bed
Why did you jump
I'm feeling so stumped
Wish I was there
didn't you know I cared
Thought I knew you
but I could not see through
Guess I was blind
desperate face in my mind

Hoplessness took over
now we sit here in sorrow
can't believe your gone
as I listen to your song
you gave up the fight
and went to the light
where you wanted to be,
now you are truly free
Fathers death too much to take
You hid the pain by being fake
Had a song we were to do
but I can't stop this ones for you

That is beautiful. Sometimes words can't be uttered but they can be put on paper in such beautiful ways. I can hear your cry, feel your tears, and your pain in those words.

I lost my dad back in 2003. He had been sick many years and me and my mom took care of him. The day he died I wrote this poem:

CLOSE YOUR EYES

Dad, today is a day of mixed emotions,
for we are bringing you home for the final time.
You can close your eyes and rest in peace,
as we let you go to life divine.
You have touched our lives,
with a heart full of joy and love.
You have touched more lives than you know,
and it is time to receive your rewards in Heaven above.
We will miss you Dad, all the days of our lives,
but we take comfort in knowing where you will be.
And we will be thankful in knowing,
that from all the pain and suffering you will be free.
You have fought the good fight with all your being,
but now your fight is over and victory is won.
Close your eyes Dad, and let sleep come,
and we will be here at your side until God's will is done.
We will hold your hand and serve your needs,
as tears of both sorrow and joy run down our cheeks.
It won't be easy but we wouldn't have it any other way,
And for God's loving comfort we will seek.
We love you Dad, and will miss you dearly,
but we will be untied on the other side.
Close your eyes Dad, and look with your heart,
for here come the angels and to your new home they will guide.

In the final moments of his life I read it to him and a few breaths later he was gone.. Hope this touches your heart as your words touched mine....God Bless You ...Rush

This poem was amazing! Thank you so much for sharing. I also lost my Father 5 months before my brother committed suicide. Thank you for sharing and my prayers are with you and your family.

A poem in memory of my Dad


Im here lying on my bed
Thinking of all that you said
I was your little princess
Your love was so priceless
You would hold me when I cried
Talk to me when I tried to hide
Just wanted you to stay
But you had to go, you went away
Longing for you loving embrace
Want to see your caring face
Feeling so blue
Heart aches for you
My core has been jaded
Your presence has faded
Peace may come tomorrow
Or maybe more sorrow
Have to move on
And try to stay strong
Time will not erase
