I was Baptized with Fire

Jesus the Christ visited me, and proclaimed the resurrection and said he was going to take me into the lake of fire. And then shortly after my body stung for a brief second as if singed with heat. I actually felt it physically in every cell of my body. Kinda scared me. But then was over with.

Was that the baptism with fire talked about in the Bible, cause He didn't say:

Luke: {3:16} John answered, saying unto [them] all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: {3:17} Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

He said he suffered god-like suffering for me in there to deliver me from the lake of fire.

Holy ghost and with fire refers to acts 2 where they got the holy ghost and it says there was tounques cloven with fire as well.

I read Acts 2, and it doesn't appear to describe any type of Baptizm. I'm not saying it isn't, I'm trying to wrap my head around the interpretation, it says in Acts :

"Yes. God took me through that process several times..." Wow, that's more than what I went thru, sounds like I'm not the only one then. Keep your chin up then?

Yes. God took me through that process several times. He would put my body to the ground and work on it until I was crying deeper than I've ever cried before. It wasn't a pain like getting injured but it felt like every square inch of my body was in flames. That's a good way to describe it I guess. It was always embarrassing when He put my body on the floor at church where everyone could see me crying like a baby. But every time He put me through that, He would speak very gentle and comforting words in my mind. He always told me that I would be okay.

At least now we're born in the spirit of God so that we can understand each other.

The fire in the verse also refers to the fire of judgment my bad forgot to add that in. But yeah it's sort of prophetic to the experience of pentecost with fire and holy ghost, but even more so the "fire" part refers to the fire of judgment as we see in verse 17.

no problem I am still learning myself I haven't been saved for long I'm about 7 months in and started ministering maybe about 2 months ago. We all learn together.

I think the only reference in Scripture to "baptism with fire" is Matthew 3:11, which speaks of the spiritual baptism by the indwelling and sealing of the Holy Spirit to a real "born again" believer in the Lord Jesus, the Christ of God (a consuming presence). The word: baptize, literally means to overwhelm, I see. Yes, the fire comes from God, burning up sin and filling the "child of God" in possession. Thank God for His ever presence!

Of all these posts I would most agree with 1watchman I guess. As another poster mentioned, this baptism "with the Holy Spirit and fire" I believe is an allusion to the Pentecost described in the book of Acts.
I always assumed the fire portion of it to mean that we would be baptized into fiery trials.
I have since understood it by way of the original meaning of The celebration of Pentecost in the Old Testament. The feast is described as the feast of weeks which is a celebration of the grain harvest. As I recall, according to Jewish tradition, this feast occurred during the giving of the law to Moses at Mount Sinai. God had already commanded the Children of Israel via Moses to celebrate the Passover, then count seven weeks and celebrate the Feast of Weeks. So here's the parallel: Jesus celebrates the Passover with his disciples, then becomes the Passover lamb the next day for us. Seven weeks later, the disciples receive the Holy Spirit with the sound of rushing wind and tongues of fire. This scene parallels the giving of the law on Mount Sinai to Israel, and God descends to the mountain top in a stormy scene as fire. This has to do with a verse in Ezekiel I believe referring to God saying, "...and I will write my law in their hearts..."
