OK.. so I don't know a lot about politics.

But I remember that when the Clintons lived in the White House...

The economy was good. The national debt was being paid down. We had a federal budget surplus. And the whole world didn't hate us!

Hilary was in St. Louis the other day.

I like her.. and her hubby! 8 More years!!!

Well I hope you aren't too attached to any of your private property, and that you have read your Bible

hyperbole much? Hillary's not even that far left for an American politician, and in terms of a worldwide scale, she's on the right.

I'll be glad when Ron Paul loses the nomination in a spectacular way and the more ignorant kind of libertarian fades away, leaving the good ones (and there are many on these boards) to make reasoned arguments

It was indeed hyperbole, but what is wrong with that every once in a while?

It must be admitted however that some of Hillary Clinton's proposals sound an awful lot like Marxist rhetoric.

I am not sure what purpose you had in writing the portion of your post regarding Ron Paul. I support the libertarian ideal that each man is the absolute owner of his own life.

Maybe further right than Bush, by the looks of it.

i suppose it would depend what you're talking about... certainly she's running more to the right of center than Bush did with his rhetoric when he ran in 2000... and as a President he was largely ineffective, but certainly talked like a right winger in 2004. We don't really know much about Bush's political stances because of his ineptitude... he's certainly a hawk, but his domestic policy seemed fairly centrist, though hampered by hamstringers on the right and his own ineptitude.

time to put up or shut up. show us some of Hillary Clinton's proposals, show us some Marxist rhetoric, and we can analyze.

She also had no intention of running for president in 2008.

That's false. The National debt increased every year during the Clinton Presidency, for a total of $1.7 trillion.

Pfff, $1.7 trillion? America can find that in her couch cushions. What are we at now, $9 trillion? Now there's a national debt for you

God I miss fiscal conservatives

If you look at the statistics, your immediate reaction will be ‘hey, wait a minute – the national debt increased under President Clinton’ – which is correct, but the increases were entirely due to the interest charged on the federal debt. When a new president takes office, the interest on the national debt doesn't stop - it continues, so the interest charges are still there.

Bill Clinton was in office for 8 years. The U.S. National Debt increased by $1.5 trillion dollars during his 8-year presidency. During this same 8-year period interest on the National Debt totaled $2.7 trillion dollars. If you eliminate the interest, the National Debt was actually reduced by $1.2 trillion dollars under President Clinton.

Didn't she promise to finsih her term as Senator?

I can't recall.

Although, would you vote for someone who said that if she was elected, she would quit the job after two years if her job was to represent you?

Boy, don't I wish we could go back to those times.^_^ (there's something almost perverse, though, I have to admit, about getting nostalgic over the 90's!) The Clinton years were very good, overall, and I would love to see Hillary in office someday soon. Unfortunately, I really don't think that's possible in 2008, considering how fervently she's hated by most people right-of-center. Even if one really likes everything that Hillary has to offer, I'd strongly recommend voting for Obama in the primaries. He has a much better chance of winning the general elections.

There is absolutely nothing that I like about Obama. If he were to beat Hillary, I would vote Republican.

I have read many of his speeches, visited his website, and even saw him on Jay Leno's. He is not the person that I would want as President.

Frankly.. he scares me.

indeed. it is a shame that the Republican party chose to put partisanship over our national security when they attacked Clinton's anti-terrorism efforts, claiming he was obsessed with Osama bin Laden and accusing him of using terrorism to distract from their attacks on his personal life. I'm sure they all breathed a sigh of relief when Bush took office and commenced to once again ignore global terrorism as a threat until it hit home.

Did you somehow slip through a worm hole from a parallel universe? Just wondering, because none of that rant is based on reality in this one.
