Some people want their homes free of animals I suppose. Personally, I love dogs, so I just vacuum up fur and keep their food bowls spanking clean and mop up little paw prints. Is the trouble with both of your parents or just one? What breed of puppy would you get if you could?

I always wanted a dog when I was a kid! I read a lot of dog books and fiction too... and I always dreamt of having a dog!

When I was 36 I got myself my very first puppy! I realised at that time the situation was right for having a canine companion. He is wonderful! Now he is three years old and one of the joys of our life! We all love him. The best things in life are sooooo worth waiting for!

That's what I did too. When I was a kid I wanted a dog my whole life, but our house was to be kept CLEAN so I wasn't allowed any animals. Bah! I used to beg to walk other people's dogs and even had an imaginary Collie dog who went everywhere with me. I pleaded with God when I was 10 and tried to convince Him that if I was good--very, very GOOD--would He please please give me my own dog. (But I musta' been bad...) The moment I was out on my own, making my own living, and away from home I purchased my very first Sheltie. Glory, it was worth the wait...I can't live without dogs!

lol! I wasn't going to mention my imaginary dog!

Well... I love shelties! I was torn between a sheltie and a Border Collie!

And the name Crofter was taken from a Sheltie! ( a very good Sheltie name! )He was my uncles dog when I was a kid and he looed very like your very beautiful dog in your avatar. I'd like some time to get a Sheltie from the Shetland Isles if I can. :)

Crofter: You had an imaginary dog too? I probably shouldn't have admitted mine on the internet for all to see. :sorry:

Hey, c'mon over sometime, I have both a Sheltie and a Border Collie. It would be just a quick jump across the Atlantic, then west of Ontario, Canada, to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Ya gotta' like snow though.

Back to dave1988: I sure hope you get a dog of your own! What kind would you get?
