Seeking God's Will
I grudgingly watch Joan of Arcadia with my finacee...total chick show! = )ConstanceB said:I SO love Joan of Arcadia -- especially when God (the little older woman who is sometimes a lunch lady), responding to Joan's complaint that she hadn't done a good job keeping this bad kid out of trouble, told Joan, "It's not about you, Joan. And it's not even about him." Then she points out students whose lives would have ended, or been horribly changed, without Joan's unintentional intervention. I often think nobody involved with producing that show really understands the spirituality of it.
And . . . Third Watch -- although I'm not sure if it will keep my devotion. When each episode had its humor and character idiosyncracies, I gulped it in. Now the producers claim that the story-line and characters are "fleshing out", but I see a definite loss of humor, and I hate it that they let Fred find God and then let him walk out on his marriage. (Bad move, that one.)
