  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you reinstall your operating system you'll lose all of the information on your hard drive. Any pictures, documents, programs that you have on there will be erased.

Not if you do a "GOOD BACKUP" of your current data

Also, not to be condescending, but troubleshooting such a vague computer problem over a forum like this with someone of your skill level is almost impossible.

Sorting anyone's problems out over the Internet is at best a hit or miss affair at the best of time no matter what the skill level

I think you should take it somewhere to be looked at before you reinstall your operating system.

Although most average users have to do this at one time or another it could cost a good proportion of a new laptop to fix your current setup (if it ends in a reinstall) - one reason why the big PC makers (and Microsoft) make so much money out of those customers.
