  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

More polite might be to say, "That is your opinion, and we all know how common opinions are. Now get yours out of my face."

I don't take abuse from anyone.
People who do get to be whiners.
The comment is like being slapped on the cheek. Turn the other cheek in Jesus's time meant to turn the other cheek to the attacker to show you were their equal.

But yes I should be more polite. That FU was an emotional reaction.

Sorry about that.

In Palestine I often witnessed groups of Hassidic and Orthodox Jews hassling and arguing with various Christian tour groups that would come to Al-Buraq Wall. They seemed to feel that the site was only for Jews and that it was a desecration of the site for non-Jews to pray at it, I can only assume that they extend the same logic to certain aspects of dress and symbols. Though they seemed like a minority as the majority of Jews in Israel do not even observe the Sabbath, let alone care who prays at Al-Buraq Wall or wears Jewish star.

That's funny - I've never seen that at the Western Wall. In fact, they've been invariably polite about sharing the space - especially the women, even when the Christians are loud and rude.

Perhaps you would have to frequent the site everyday for a few months to witness it.

I know someone who is gentile and who has lived in Jerusalem for 2+ years and who frequents the site - never have they wittnesed it... and I know a Jewish couple who lived in Jerusalem for 13 years and frequented the site, they never wittnessed it, nor heard of it either...

and as you said, the majority of Israeli Jews are not religious (just like the majority of any other country, I dare say) and the media is not slow to jump on any and everything they can to pile on the religious Jewish community, especially if it was something that would hinder the tourism trade.... and they never heard anything there either.... hmmmm

God bless that they are lucky enough to never witness such a disgrace. However Jerusalem is a large place and simply living with in the greater metropolitan Jerusalem does not mean you would be within range of the wall any day, let alone every. I lived just off Aqabat Khanqa and would walk down Al’Wad every day to get to the bus on Ofel Road, this walk took me though the Jewish Quarter and right by Al’Buraq 5 times a week twice a day. I know what I have seen and heard if my word is not enough for you I am sure I can find other sources to state the same.

how very telling that someone would come onto a forum where they would expect there to be both Jewish people and those who support Israel, post in a thread about supporting Israel and yet persist in using the usurper title when talking about the #1 holiest site in Judaism, HaKotel, The Wall ... very interesting... at least I think so ...

If you wish to make an accusation simply do so. The name I use is the one I have used since I was born and the one that any one speaking Arabic would use. The site is holy to all three faiths, not just Judaism.

As for support for Israel, I support Israel, I am an Israeli citizen, I enjoy the democracy, freedom, education and security that living in Israel provided. I simply support a truly democratic Israel, a just Israel, an Israel of the rightful people of the land. Israel is a great nation, with a great people, a great culture, a great history. Unfortunately all of that is subject to a bad government, elected by illegal squatters who chose to deny the rightful majority their democratic right.

Chose to call the wall what you will, I will choose to call it what I will. Your name for it does not change the meaning of the wall, it does not change the wall we are speaking about, it does not change the holy nature of the wall and it does not insult me. Me using a name you might will do nothing other than that as well.

"your post speaks quite eloquently indeed."

Ah, so you only support Israel as long as it is a Jewish majority, run by Jews for the best interests of Jews and maintaining that Jewish majority by whatever means necessary… Good we cleared that up. Well, I will support legal and just democracy with rights for all and you can support your system. No use in arguing, we all have our values and beliefs... to each his own.

"The name changes everything"

Then I guess you are far more superficial than I am as name means nothing to me, it is the meaning of the wall, the history of the wall and the connection to God you get when you pray at it.

Psalms - Chapter 130

1. A song of ascents. From the depths I have called You, O Lord.
2. O Lord, hearken to my voice; may Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3. O God, if You keep [a record of] iniquities, O Lord, who will stand?
4. For forgiveness is with You, in order that You be feared.
5. I hoped, O Lord; yea, my soul hoped, and I wait for His word.
6. My soul is to the Lord among those who await the morning, those who await the morning.
7. Israel, hope to the Lord, for kindness is with the Lord and much redemption is with Him.
8. And He will redeem Israel from all their iniquities.

Psalms - Chapter 83

1. A psalm, a song of Asaph.
2. O God, have no silence, do not be silent and do not be still, O God.
3. For behold, Your enemies stir, and those who hate You raise their heads.
4. Against Your people they plot cunningly, and they take counsel against Your protected ones.
5. They said, "Come, let us destroy them from [being] a nation, and the name of Israel will no longer be remembered."
6. For they have taken counsel with one accord; against You they form a pact.
7. The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites.
8. Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre.
9. Also Assyria joined them; they were the arm of the children of Lot forever.
10. Do to them as [to] Midian; as [to] Sisera, as [to] Jabin in the brook Kishon.
11. They were destroyed in En-Dor; they were [as] dung on the ground.
12. Make them, their nobles, as Oreb and as Zeeb, and as Zebah and as Zalmuna all their princes,
13. Who said, "Let us inherit for ourselves the dwellings of God."
14. My God, make them like thistles, like stubble before the wind.
15. As a fire that burns in a forest and as a flame that burns mountains.
16. So will You pursue them with Your tempest, and with Your whirlwind You will terrify them.
17. Fill their faces with shame, and they will seek Your countenance, O Lord.
18. Let them be ashamed and terrified forever; let them be disgraced and perish.
19. Let them know that You -- Your name alone is the Lord, Most High over all the earth.

Psalms - Chapter 142

1. A maskil of David, when he was in the cave, a prayer.
2. [With] my voice, I cry out to the Lord; [with] my voice, I supplicate the Lord.
3. I pour out before Him my speech; my distress I recite before Him.
4. When my spirit enwraps itself upon me, and You know my path. In whichever way I go, they have hidden a snare for me.
5. Looking to the right, I see that no one recognizes me; escape is lost from me; no one seeks my soul.
6. I cried out to You, O Lord; I said, "You are my refuge, my lot in the land of the living."
7. Hearken to my cry for I have become very low; save me from my pursuers for they have overpowered me.
8. Take my soul out of confinement to give thanks to Your name; because of me the righteous will crown You, because You will recompense me.

i heard anti-semists are very popular among christians in europe, n middle east. but just a story people told me. i have no exact idea. christian or not, chinese are pretty pro-jews. but the government politics has to have a middium tone to protect chinese fm terrorists attacks.:D

make me to think who are more dangerous to jews? the christians anti-semites or the muslims anti-semites? anyway donest matter, G-d is bigger than them both.

Anti-Semitism is quite entrenched in Europe, it dates back though their history which is fairly obvious. One also has to remember that anti-Semitism never ended. Right up to WW2 Anti-Semitism was common in any European nation as well as America. The holocaust simply brought guilt upon people who were bias against the Jews, it did not end it but just forced it underground. As the holocaust becomes more and more distant of a memory the effect it has on people becomes less and we see the steady increase in anti-Semitism around the world that we have seen fort he past 20 years, fueled by the inflammatory acts of the Israeli government.

And of course China is pro-Israel, Israel has sold China much American technology. The new state of the art Chinese fighter jet (J-10) was designed of the designs of the American f-16d which Israel stole from America and sold to China, along with a few other state of the art American military technologies.

But who is most dangerous to the Jews, I would say it is the Jews themselves. Most of the hatred against them, the anger towards them is because of their own acts. The occupation and persecution of the Palestinian people, the continual wars against Arab lands, the acts of the Jewish lobby in America…. Most people who have any kind of dislike for the Jews, if you ask them why the reason they will give will be something the Jews did.

Dismantle the settlements and return to the 1967 borders and I guarantee 80% of the militants in Palestine would put down their weapons and go home to their families.

Your use of the Arabic names betrays your agenda. But thanks for resurrecting this thread!

Antisemitism has existed throughout the ages - it was created and is sustained by Satan and much of the Christian church has bought into the lie. During WWII, the apostate Lutheran and Catholic Churches supported Hitler's attempt to eradicate Judaism. I find it very difficult to forgive them. Currently the various liturgical and liberal mainline churches have the desire to eliminate Israel, regardless of prophecy, as their agenda. You are free to post here as the thread is open. I'll take this opportunity to pray that your eyes be opened and your heart softened. Otherwise, you will be removing yourself from blessings that the Father promises to those who bless the apple of his eye.

The language of my birth indicates I have a specific agenda? Please sir, this is a Christian forum, it is not a place for such bigotry.

I do not know about Lutheran, but the Catholic Church sheltered many Jews and helped many of them to freedom.

Israel must simply stop it's apartheid and give every inhabitant of the holy land their fundamental human and democratic rights, it must eliminate it's illegal government, elected by the illegal minority and restore justice to the holy land.

There seems to be the notion that these prophecy contends that Israel must be by Jews and only for Jews. This is simply not true, God gave the land to the decedents of Abraham, of which I am one along with every other Palestinian. He created this land to be a place of worship of all three faiths, he has given it to us all. We must honor God and fulfill his requests and allow the holy land to be truly that, a place where all his decedents may live legally and peacefully in a just and righteous society.

Denying 6,000,000 of Abrahams decedents their right, persecuting them, occupying them and stealing their land from them is not honoring God. Israel as it stands today is a secular nation not inspired or created to honor God or his promise, but inspired and created though secular Zionism (Jewish socialism), promoted by hatred and fear and maintained by violence and apartheid.

All of us who worship God and his word must fight against this insult to him and this attack against the people he loves.

Otherwise, you will be removing yourself from blessings that the Father promises to those who bless the apple of his eye. -ContentInHim

That really is not for you to decide, that is the realm of God, and thank God for that.
