  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

my girlfriend read most of the harry potter books and really enjoys them. She's trying to get me to read them but i'm also a Tolkien nerd and prefer those books instead. But i'm enjoyed all the other harry potter movies so i know i'll enjoy this one :D

I finally saw the first two Harry Potter films and loved loved loved them. I'm going to se the 3rd at theatre next week. I only read the 1st book.

I also watched on TV the ...oh what's the name of it....the Ring...the power of the Ring? The ring with hobbits and stuff. It was hard to get into, but I finally did.

It's darker than Harry; I think I prefer lighter.

I just saw it. I thought it was great. The best of the three. Those kids are groing so fast. Amazing.
I loved the name of Prof. Remus Lupin. Such a play on names that he is a werewolf.
Speaking of werewolves. That was a poor looking werewolf.

I thought the movie was awesome!!! It did not seem like 2hours and 20 minutes!! The only part that I didn't like was when Harry went running off in his invisibility cloak crying, that didn't really work for me! It was very well done though. Two thumbs up!!

NO SPOILERS PLEASE FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN IT!
Oh, I wouldn't call Harry running away crying in his invisibilty cloak a spoiler. It wasn't the most, er, "memorable" point of the film. At least that part had some parellel to the book, when he says he wants to actually kill Sirius. For those who've read the book, that's no spoiler! But still, there were a lot of things that I was like, why on earth is this in here, there's nothing like this in the book!!?? Hope that doesn't spoil your movie experience!

The book was a lot better, if you haven't read it and liked the movie you should. The movie leaves out a lot, especially the things that Harry thinks in his head, which was the book dealt with mostly.
I totally agree with you. The book does have a lot of what Harry was thinking, and that kinda stuff is rather hard to put in a movie. Just imagine what the fifth, or even the fourth movies are gonna be like...not only are the books so long, but there's so much stuff that Harry just thinks, like in the beginning, when he questions whether he should leave the Dursleys... They should still be good though, don't get me wrong!!
