I would have preferred if the question had been worded differently, like which reason is the foremost. I would choose all of the above. And I have real philosopical differences with every chimpanzee and other apes that I have discussed this with. It is hard for me to accept that we could be related. At least pigs have the same number of chromosones.
To be honest I didn't give it that much thought, it was later that it started to amuse me. It's just that I am convinced that at the heart of the issue is an a priori assumption of a single common ancestor. More and more I have come to realize that this comes before everything else and will never stand or fall on the actual evidence.
I was just confused that no one choose biology, that's supposed to be the holy grail for evolution. Paleontology might have been an interesting choice but no one liked that one as a stand alone discipline. Multiple disciplines would have been fine if in the discussion there was something said about them working in concert. More then anything else I found the poll amusing with no real bearing on the actual discussion.
