  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm glad to hear you're volunteering in the church.

I haven't read that one. What have you learned from it?

Fasting isn't my strong suit as I've only done it twice, but it helped me connect more deeply with God.

The only way I can function in this unpredictable life is to not look inwardly for comfort but look up to our Father.
I used to volunteer in the church and look at opportunities again soon. It was great and helped get the focus off me and found the church experience more rewarding.

Created for Community book is really good and has helped in my journey with the Lord and has helped me comprehend the Christian faith more. I not heard of the book: The Praying Life by Paul Miller but I will look for it more.

Anyway I have an opportunity for temp work next week. It is a relief and I have had a lot of temp work in the past. It hard getting something more stable. Also I am lonely and it is hard.

We are soldiers in God's army!

My own quote is this: It isn't WHAT we go through but HOW we go through it (with God of course!) What might be difficult for me may be easy for you and vice versa. It isn't the situation, but our keeping our face toward God in faith. Sometimes He allows us to be on our backs so we get the message: LOOK UP! Even in the darkest well in the middle of the day if we look up we will see His stars shining above.

You'll get through this. Life itself isn't easier perhaps, but our attitude can become "Whatever you do to me Lord, I will trust You" (paraphrased from Job, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him."

God will either deliver you from suffering, or if not, will give you the strength and grace, to pass trough it and endure it.

Difficulties make you do or discover some good things which you would not do or discover otherwise.

When you worry about the future, which you do not know, it prevents you to function and enjoy living in the present, which you know.

We all have reasons, to be troubled, but the Word of God, gave us a greater reason, not to be troubled.

The Holy Spirit is called a Helper! Therefore, no Christian can be helpless again!

Thank you. Well I believe God can deliver. Only God knows what will happen in the future which is true. I can be worried about the coming week but I need to trust God to guide and help me during this journey.
