Ah, glad you are set up for a new one soon. And that the services will be covered in the meantime. (I'm assuming weekly Divine Liturgy?)

But no regular priest through the services of Great Lent? And no one for the parishioners to advise you all through it? I think that would be impossible for one to cover part time along with his own parish. Too bad you don't have a retired priest who can step in for a bit ... we sometimes rely on a retired priest who was formerly at our parish when ours has to be away.

i don't suppose there's a parish close enough for you to visit and attend some of the Lenten services, is there? Or will someone be doing some of them?

Sorry, I'm being a little nosey. But it's an unfortunate time of year to be without a priest, I'm thinking?

    Which one?

Was it the old three finger handshake with the triple tap, or the one that clasps at the wrist?

(I am sworn to secrecy as to who showed me this and let the cat out of the Orthodox bag!!)

I live in a college town so it is difficult to go to the closest city that is like 2 hours away, especially when I don't have a car. I will see if I get more details in the future.

Thanks. Though I might need some love and patience when discussing issues.

No one's perfect. Nevertheless, I see your passion for the Lord and that's inspiring.

Ah ... maybe you can carpool with someone from your parish. If it were me, I'd try to find out what Holy Week services would be offered and if you won't have those at your parish, I'd start looking for a way. Maybe someone in the nearest parish could host people. I would love to have such an opportunity. :) So I think others might too.

Or maybe your parish will be taken care of for Holy Week at least? It's something I'd try to find out, if it were me.

I hope all things go well for your parish. If nothing else, it's a blessing you will have interim visiting priests and your own parish priest again soon. :)

Glory to God, and I understand about priest changes. My first priest left less than a year after I was received into the church. I really like our new priest, and adore his wife and daughter, but I still miss our old priest terribly. When Hubman had his heart attack, I even sent him a message saying how much I wished he was still here.
